    What happened to Tate?
What if Duke and North Carolina made the final 4? That’d be sick right!

    Tate is the man
Tate's great at this. Impressive how he keeps everything tight. I just worry that his talents may get squandered by the tepid appetite for NCAA Basketball coverage.

    Lack of West Coast Knowledge
I’ll start by saying I like this podcast. I’ve listened to this and Tate’s previous podcast since 2020. I’d call myself a fan of a team rather than the sport, so I appreciate the 10,000 foot view of what else is going on, along with Tate’s podcast demeanor. Frankly, there’s never been a great depth of knowledge about west coast basketball on any iteration of a national college basketball podcast. That’s fine: it would be unreasonable to expect them to know every detail about every team. I do expect them to not be factually wrong on their platform, like calling a lead guard with a 2:1 assist-to-turnover ratio a “turnover machine“, or saying that a 21-year-old is “in defiance of God still playing college basketball,” or claiming that continuity will be a plus on a team with 9 new players. I wouldn’t care if—in their analysis—they disagreed with my assessment of players, but true inaccuracies like these make me question how much they actually know about other teams. There are many great media personalities with deep knowledge about west coast basketball. I hope in the future Tate will invite one of them on, rather than have national figures give their 30-second espn.com read-off on teams in the sport they cover.

    UNC
Tate’s compulsion to mention UNC (even when it’s apropos of nothing) is like a tic. He’ll literally explode if he has to go more than 10 mins without mentioning North Carolina. We get it Tate, you went there!
  • GopherGolfer609
    Lombardi still
Sorry Tate. Good job dealing with these two and they’re off the cuff baloney. Your boy voted Ben Simmons all NBA at least twice Lombardi has the 30/10 hindsight. Maxey iverson comparison is the dumbest thing I’ve ever listened too

The best March Madness podcast by a mile!
As someone who grew up on ACC games broadcast regionally — and called by Jim Thacker & Billy Packer — and then attended UVa in the Ralph Sampson era (and remembers Phil Ford & Walter Davis BEFORE Michael came to Chapel Hill, and was the first freshman to ever lead a Dean Smith team in field goal attempts)…it does my heart good to hear Tate Frazier, a man who knows his college basketball in general, and the ACC in particular. (It irks me to hear people wax poetic about how the Big East was the best basketball conference in history.) And in this era of one-and-dones + overseas prospects, I turn to J. Kyle Mann and Kevin O’Connor for NBA draft analysis. So this is a perfect pairing for March Madness. Keep up the great work, guys!

    Cheap Date
5 stars for ripping Nike’s transition away from high quality shooting warmups, this week. Nothing makes me happier than collecting 90s-era warmups off secondary sites for cheap. Love em. RIP and please, please down with the stupid t-shirts.

    UNC, UK and that’s it
I enjoyed Tate much more when he and Titus were doing this show and T’d Up and more so when he was Simmons’ lackey. Now, he is trying to pretend like he is hosting a national college hoops show, but there is WAY too much UNC and UK talk than those programs deserve. And if you’re a fan of the schools he clearly hates (Duke, Arizona, etc), forget about getting an objective take on your team.

    Shout Out to OSP
Thanks Tate and Kyle for putting this together and bringing it twice every week. As a lifelong college basketball fan I really appreciate what you do. Keep up the great work

    Solid, but…
As a long time listener, I think that while this is a solid podcast, very little of the magic exists that used to exist with his former co-host (and to be clear, I think the exact same of his former co-host’s current show). J. Kyle Mann is enjoyable so he isn’t the problem. Maybe once the season starts the show will take off but this isn’t “can’t miss” programming like he used to be a part of.

    Off Topic
I don’t mind you guys going off topic as breaks but focus more on the basketball please. I really didn’t come here to listen about other things. I get it for breaks ir transitions but you guysget sidetracked too many times.

Pod is better Without J Kyle Mann
Started listening once the pod was re-introduced earlier in the year. Love Tate, love producer Kyle and I love their chemistry!! But every episode that JKM is on feels like an instant chore to get through. JKM doesn’t present anything creative or of substance when discussions are being had and his “co-host” role feels very forced.

I dare Tate to actually consume college basketball outside of UNC, Duke and Kentucky
Tate once again proves he’s woefully unqualified to have a podcast about college basketball outside of his school. If you are going to cover something on your podcast, like the Hunter Dickinson quote about Michigan, maybe actually do your job and listen to the interview, rather than perpetuate a snappy headline. The quote was taken out of context to enflame Michigan fans. What Hunter actually said was that Michigan people are nice, but that Ann Arbor has a more east coast feel because it’s a bigger, more metropolitan city than Lawrence, Kansas. Also, calling Kansas an ally of the South? This is a blatant admission that you have never once researched the border war. Kansas and Missouri literally burned things down and people died in the civil war, because Missouri was a slave state and Kansas was a free state. It’s literally the basis for the entire rivalry. Just because Bill gives you a podcast doesn’t mean you get to say whatever you want. Your job is to do even just the bare minimum amount of research before you turn on the microphone, and you can’t manage to do that. Do better.
  • charliej0623
    Made the cut…
I listen to at least 30 hours of podcasts a week so it has to keep my attention. This one does. I started it because it’s from TRU (the ringer universe) but I stayed because it’s really good. A little more Arkansas content would be great. 😊 Also I was at the “time out heard round the world game” so I love the intro…

    Selfish Split
Your perspective on college basketball literally created an entirely new dimension through which to consume an entire sport. Then you took that lens, and the thousands who collectively loved that perspective, shot it, then kicked it in the teeth, all so that you could disappear into the anonymity of NBA media personalities. I don’t know, and more than that, don’t care whose fault it was. Just fix it.

tate and kyle are great but it’s just not the same. can’t do it. eye on CBB is my home now. someone please let me know if titus ever #comeshome to the ringer or if tate joins barstool. forever a friend of the program
  • steven3charles
    Not what it was
Better than what Titus is putting out but still nowhere near the quality that it once was. Sad that we could see the split coming for some time since Titus was openly flirting with barstool. I’ve listened to PMT from the beginning and it was always obvious that Mark was always trying to impress big cat.
  • New England Pop Culture Addict
It’s like listening to Bud Abbot without Lou Costello
I listened for over a month and now I’m out. He can’t control his guests who talk over him and his attempts at humor often fall flat. His bit about Doc Rivers “playing with his meat” was par for the course. He never rises above middle school humor and he thinks things are funnier if you say them loud. I wish he and Titus would have stayed together but if I have to choose I choose Titus. I should have known better. I tried to listen to Pushin’ Thru and bailed on that too. He just works best as someone supporting the main host.

    Best college basketball pod
Tate please ditch this other Kyle man person, you’re better off alone he adds nothing. 3 stars until we get back to who matters.
  • Kiwislug
    Beats out Titus’s podcast
First things first. This and The Mark Titus show are #1 and #2 for CBB podcasts. I don’t usually have time for both though, so I end up going to this first. Why? 1. Length. They keep it under 90 minutes and are sticking closer to the old OSP format than Titus (though Titus seems to be fixing this lately sticking to one guest per show). 2. J Kyle Mann is a better guest who has a better rapport with Tate than anyone Titus has brought on yet (again Titus has been closing the gap with Jake Marsh lately though). I’m surprised I’m going with OSP since I’m the same age as Titus, have enjoyed his stuff since the Club Trillion era, and generally felt he was a little better on the mic than Tate, but here we are.

    Tate wins the divorce
I loved LOVED Titus & Tate together for years and was as sad as you can possibly be about two podcast hosts going their separate ways. But so far, the new OSP has been better than Titus on Barstool. Tate does not have the natural banter with guests yet that he did with Titus, but he is doing a great job carrying the show. Shoutout to Jim too, I miss him also and hope he pops back up at the Ringer!!
  • OhioState4444
Way too much “J” Kyle Mann
Tate is a little sissy for emailing Titus his decision. Be a man and call him.
  • Megan131989
    Best College Basketball Podcast
This is the best college basketball podcast by a long shot. Love how quick they’ve been at getting tournament recaps up day-by-day. Tate has a great mix of knowledge and rumor, and Kyle Mann is a great recurring guest. While I miss Tate and Mark together, this is definitely the better option over Barstool.
  • 123321123321467
    Tate is awesome but…
J Kyle Mann and the other guests trying to constantly cram the NBA into a college basketball show is annoying. Every analogy and every event has to be related to the NBA despite the NBA being an insufferably bad product.

    Finally, The Best Version
I was hoping for YEARS that a version of the podcast with JUST Tate and Producer Kyle came to fruition!! It’s much better; and, the humor is less frat boy and more sarcastic or silly (both huge improvements). I can’t wait to re-follow this podcast!

    More CBB less UNC
Glad the Ringer has a podcast to focus on college hoops, could go without the 45 minutes discussing an unranked UNC team when there’s a lot of other teams to discuss heading into March Madness
  • Bonejagis
I am begging Tate for one episode that isn’t about UNC
Really trying to get into the new version of OSP but man…first episode is with Bill Simmons which means mostly NBA talk. Second episode is all about UNC-Duke. At the end Tate says he’s don’t talking about UNC. Then immediately the next episode is all about UNC again. Tate, please! They’re irrelevant!! They’re gonna be in the NIT. Talk about literally anyone else!

    It is what it is
T’d up, and the different iterations, OSP, Titus and Tate, are my favorite podcast of all time. It’s sad to see that you are on different platforms now, because the show that you both put together was perfect. This most recent season was the best yet with Tate doing the good guy bag guy, and Titus doing the fraud power rankings. Plus that little bit of Jim was entertaining. When I first started listening a million years ago, I barely cared about college ball but you two talking about it made me care. It’s sad that I won’t be able to see the duffel bag boys together again. I know there is a difference in culture between the ringer and barstool, but that difference is bunk and quite frankly nonsense, if we can get a crossover episode of the mark titus show and OSP for the tournament that would make all us real fans happy. Nobody can talk college roundball better than Tate Frazier and Mark Titus can together. Please make the crossover happen at least for this year to give us fans the closure we deserve after following you guys from platform to platform for years
