Really like the structure of this podcast. The content is relevant and insightful. There is also an appropriate amount of banter to introduce each episode. The only thing I have trouble with is one of the hosts. My biggest pet peeve in any podcast is audio. Cam often sounds like he’s cleaning up his room while talking, alternately moving away from and then close to his mic—sometimes so soft I can barely hear him and then suddenly shouting directly into the mic so loudly it distorts my speakers! I would rate this five stars if Cam would sit still and maintain a consistent distance between him and the mic.

Best podcast EVER!

The Board Boys Podcast is my favorite board game podcast. They do a great job explaining the theme and mechanics of a game in a concise way. When I am done listening to the main segment I have a good idea if it is a game I want to try or not. The banter is great! They bring some silliness and laughs to the show. I also like how they play and talk about a variety of games. From the hotness to older games, to heavy euros and party games. Give them a listen for a few episodes.

Very funny and doesn’t ramble like a lot of pods these days.

Informative. Entertaining. Structured enough that it doesn’t ramble, spontaneous enough that it’s never quite the same. I’ve bought several games off of their reviews and they’ve been spot on with the pros and cons (and prawns).

Love the banter and the thoughtful discussion about the games. Also really like that the podcast’s approach spotlights some older games that are often overlooked.

I’ve listened to literally tens of BoardGameGeek podcasts. This is on of the better ones. Congratulate yourselves.

After spending 40+ hours listening to this, I almost feel like I know these guys. Most episodes just feel like the low key hangouts that I live for with friends who are just nerding out and having fun. Super informative and would 100% recommend for anyone to listen to, whether you’re only on board for a specific game, or if you’re planning to power through every session. Check it out

If you’re into hearing a buncha dorks talk about dorky stuff for an hour, then this is the right place. Board game culture is starting to get more popular, but some of the more elaborate games can seem overwhelming. Whether you’re a n00b who wants to learn more or a board game vet that’s played them all, this show does a good job of breaking down the mechanics of the games they play, and it doesn’t feel like reading from instruction manual. V entertaining. V fun.

If I had more thumbs, I’d give more thumbs up. I’m not super into board games, but this podcast makes me want to be. The guys have good chemistry together and are clearly well-versed in what they love. Plus, it’s nice to listen to when I’m wandering around the grocery store!

This podcast is a generous gift. It’s entertaining and informative, and it’s based on real experiences. What Board Boys does best is make me want to play board games. They communicate how fun it is, and exactly what you’re getting into with any particular game.
