I’m a fitness trainer and self-taught graphic designer that is now dabbling with some motion design. This podcast has been very informative and insightful. I really like the interviewees so far. They seem not only very smart, but very humble. This goes for the host as well. Thanks a lot guys.

I’ve known about SOM for awhile from their tutorials, but I don’t typically listen to a lot of career-oriented podcasts because they’re often very out of touch or just very obviously PR fluff. This is the opposite—very honest, very candid, and the few episodes I’ve listened to have had very humble and open guests.

As a motion graphics/video person who is lucky enough to be in this industry, sometimes all I think about is what my world would be like if I learned from all of these resources as early as high school (I'm now 28). I'm glad I went to a university for what I do, but watching Joey build School of Motion from the ground up over the years has been incredible. I've been digesting School of Motion content since it started around 2014, and Joey is one of the most likable/knowledgable dudes in the industry. Sometimes I feel like I need to branch out more with my podcasts, because it's nothing but the ones related to motion design and animation. That being said, this is my favorite one! The School Of Motion Podcast is great. Joey is great at asking the right questions and I love how deep down and geeky the episodes get.

Great podcast! This podcast has done so much for me; I feel like this was a great introduction to the mograph industry and started building my confidence in coming out of my little designer shell...it's engaging and useful, there are a few episodes that I have even listened to more than once just to squeeze every drop of knowledge I could! These guys are interesting, and what they have to say is always worth the listen. If you're looking for something that's informative that you can simply listen to, these guys put out the best podcast on motion graphics I've ever found. There are certainly others out there with plenty of good information, but this podcast I've found is a lot more entertaining. I'm always looking forward to each show as they come out.

This is truly a great, engaging podcast. I wish I would have had this info when I was first cutting my teeth in the mograph world, it would have helped so much. I find myself constantly nodding my head in agreement for stuff I had to find out the hard way. I also always keep picking up nuggets of info for stuff I didn't know. Joey is a natural host and a brilliant interviewer. This podcast is crucial for anyone in, or interested in the world of post-production. Great work, Joey!

I'm a big fan of this podcast and the insider look you get at post production. It's not just the specific field of motion graphics, but adjacent fields as well, like editing. I'm currently a graphic designer who is interested in motion graphics, so this is a god send. The practical tips and heads up about certain situations are making me feel a lot more comfortable on my new journey into this career. I highly recommend it.

Amazing!! Not only was the experience I had with SOM animation Bootcamp great, but these Podcast are really amazing! Joey really gets in there and ask practical questions that we as mograph artist want to know. As a person just starting their career in this field,after listening to Joey, I feel poised and confident to go out and create great things. Podcast #12 was really awesome! I'm glad Joey mentions what to do for guys like me who are just starting out and are a little nervous about their skill level. I am appreciative of the great work that Joey is doing for the mograph community.

Advice from a successful veteran is priceless. As a new motion designer, I feel like I have a HUGE advantage moving forward. As veteran freelancer in the Entertainment industry, I STILL learn a ton of stuff I never would have thought about.

This podcast is great. As some of the other reviews mentioned, the wholistic approach to mograph is exaclty what I need. I can learn how to use this or that effect in a 3-12 minute youtube video. What I can't learn is what is current in the industry, how to freelance, what the lifespan of a career in mograph looks like. That is the gold here. Oh, and school of motion also teaches all the cool effects.

Highly recommend these podcasts for anyone who feels like they need to broaden their perspective on the industry, or just wants to listen to folks nerd out in general.

I began my journey into Motion Design two years ago. I found School of Motion on the internet and I never looked back. Joey understands how to "speak" to all levels and his patience knows no bounds. He works tirelessy and his passion for motion design is palpable. In these podcasts he brings to the listener so many words of wisdom via his guests and himself. I confess I have listened to a couple of them more than once.

I've been listening to School of Motion religiously for about a year now. Even topics that seem like they won't apply to my specific situation have proved to be extremely insightful. I can't say enough amazing things about Joey and his amazing crew with School of Motion. If you are new to After Effects like am this is the place to start. Super funny and witty and a pleasure to listen too on top of all the amazing tips and industry secrets. A must listen.

Two of my all time favorite podcatsts are in this series. "Nobody is Born as Designer" with Lilian Darmono and "The Uncertain Future of MoGraph" with Chris Do. Full of helpful information, inspiration and personal stories. Joey asks pertinent industry questions and allows the interviewees to really speak to the topic, allowing the discussions to go into deep and meaningful territory.
