    Used to be good
Yeah, I pay for enough, paying to get bonus episodes in lieu of regular episodes? Nah, I’ll look elsewhere
  • RoRohRo
    I love this
Great true crime. His voice keeps me focused on the story.

A listener for some time, until…
Generally an okay podcast. But now their writer, Ryan did wrote and they published an homage to a teenage delinquent in A Serpent Keeper. Glorifying the guy because he happened to be shot is not good coverage. Very, very biased instead of straight factual reporting.

    Amazing
This podcast is great. I cannot stop listening to it. Great work . Keep it up.

    My favorite podcast!
This is my favorite true crime podcast. I love how you just tell the story and don’t get into speculation and judgments. Some other podcasts just go on and on about what they think but sometimes I can care less. Especially if they have done the investigation on their own. Keep up the great work!
  • BabblingBrooks12
    Entertaining
Great stories if you can get past it sounding like Kevin from the Office is narrating.

    HATERS R NOT WELCOME
This podcast is my FAVORITE and has been for sooo long now. I love everything about it , narration and all. I love that the stories are presented in a respectful and tasteful manner. All the haters can buzz off!!!!

    Hooked
Each episode is well-produced and engaging, with great storytelling that keeps you hooked. The Minds of Madness features interviews that add depth to the stories, making it feel personal.

    Respectful
Been listening for several years now, appreciate that the producers present the stories in a respectful manner. Side note, I really like the theme song too!

    Narration
The guy doing the narration sounds like he has something wedged way, way up there.

    Narrator needs to stop
Omg. The narrator sounds like he’s reading children’s books. Ugh!

    Well Done
This show covers the victim’s side of true crime in a respectful way. It is thoughtful and relevant to the human experience.

If you want to hear someone read
Read a script of a dateline episode you've seen at least 10 times, then thus is the podcast for you.

    I give 5 stars
Grown adults whining about how someone miss pronounces a word are the true definition of a Karen..

    Oh please
The voice is so annoying I couldn’t make it past three minutes

    Good! But bad story teller.
Great story! However the person who tells it has a very annoying voice and talks slow. I had to speed it up.

    True crime junkie
The voice is incredibly difficult to listen to. The content is good, quality is good, production is good, but the presentation is ruined by the overly dramatic, ridiculous voice.

    Great!
    Very good and interesting podcast.

    Narrator’s voice 😖
I want to rate this higher but the narrator’s voice and the way he talks makes me want to pull all my hair out. I’ve only listened to one episode but I don’t think I can continue if they are all narrated by the same guy.
  • cmdm
    the most annoying voice…
i’ve ever heard on a podcast…love his topics but that voice…and it seems so phony…i’ve tried to listen…it’s impossible…
  • Brookuums
    5 stars but LIMITED
They’re really trying to eliminate free content this season, so this might be nearing the end for me. Has been great though

    Pronunciations
Please look up how to pronounce city names before saying them 75 times in an episode. It’s so distracting to anyone who knows them. Charlotte, MI is pronounced shar-LOT - not like the name. 😉

    Good but unbearable
This is a great podcast but the narrators voice makes it unbearable to listen to. I don’t understand it.

    Fave Show

    AI Voiceover??
I am new here and have only listened through the Broken Connections episode. The writing and layout of the story was engaging and interesting, but the voice reading the script was really distracting. It really really sounded like an AI voice and felt super inappropriate for the story it was telling. I sounded like it was set to the tone of some smoky-baritone male reading with the cadence of a dateline reporter telling a salacious story. The variations and inflections were so regular and unwavering in pattern that it felt like a really formulaic attempt to fake us all out. I may try another episode, but won’t be able to stick with it if they don’t let a real person tell us the story.

    LOVE
This is my absolute favorite podcast. The stories are so interesting and very well narrated, I can visualize every detail. Each story is so unique, I expected every story to be similar, but that is not the case. I listen to this podcast any time I can! Love love love!

    Breaks
Soooo many adds these days, makes the show hard to listen to anymore.
  • Tajannah
    Love the podcast!
I like the detail of the stories. I'm listening to earlier versions and REALLY prefer the slower, less sing-songy tone of the narrator's voice. Sounds much more natural.
  • PrincessSunshine
Long time listener, love the theme music
I was really disappointed when the original theme music was changed. The replacement didn’t have the same vibe and it really didn’t set the right tone. It wasn’t bad, no offense to anyone. The first week it was back, I thought maybe it was an accident. Sounds like it’s back long term though and I had to come say thank you!! The original one really has a more serious sound and it pairs better with the awesome narrator’s voice. That original intro and the narrator are what hooked me in the first place, years ago! The writing, production, everything is top tier! The ads are nobody’s fave but not everyone can pay to support the podcast and I’m just happy one of my favorites is still around, always on time and always riveting.

    Commercials
So many commercials, can’t get to the story…I think I’ll have to pass.
  • J25Vera
    Opening theme music
I am so happy the original them music is back!
  • 7spacecat
    Don’t even bother
I listened to about 3 minutes before I turned it off. The narrator’s poor attempt to be creepy with his ridiculously over the top and fake voice was so awful. How is anyone expected to listen to that? Is this dude serious?
  • EverlyJane17
    Minds of Madness
Great stories, bad narrator’s voice is unpleasant.

If cable tv were a podcast
Commercial increase making it difficult to continue listening. More commercials than story.

    My Sunday night fave
Love this podcast… I really miss the theme song you had until a few episodes ago tho. It was my favorite podcast theme for some reason. Bring it back!!! Or don’t, I’m not the boss of you whatevs.

    5 stars
I've listened to this show for years. Great show. I commend them for attempting a deep dive/solve but that was a swing and a miss. A month's worth of episodes for no closure. I'm sorry but that was a let down. Then to say we hope we set her spirit free huh???

    Who killed Jennifer review
This 4 part series was amazing. It was so respectful of Andy and Jennifer as their stories were told, not to mention the many other sex worker victims. Please listen to this series if you can!
  • Workingk9
    Was 5 stars until...
I’ve been listening to this podcast for quite a while now and have always loved it— especially the quiet, creepy music that really gave it a unique atmosphere. Also love the narrator’s soothing voice. Unfortunately, recently, quite a bit of ads with jarring, loud music has been interspersed at various points throughout the podcast that is just awful. Completely changed the creep factor to just obnoxious. Please put the ads together in one place— preferably the beginning or end… UPDATE— just can’t deal with ALL. THE. ADS. Unsubscribed after being a loyal listener for over 5 years.
  • Jenny_Thompson
    Love this podcast but..
I just paid for the as free version and there are STILL SO MANY ADS! What gives?

    Creepy Shane
Shane’s voice is soooo creepy. 😩can’t listen to this last episode! Love this podcast but eeeeek can’t hear that creepy voice!
  • Growoffsomesteam
    The narrator…
The content is relatively interesting but the narrator’s voice is a massive distraction. And there are far too many ads.
  • TattoosbyJoelle
    Highly recommend!
This podcast is well written, covers some very intriguing stories and has a great narrator! Seriously one of my favorite voices in podcasts. So easy to listen to. One of the bests in my opinion!

    GREAT OUTLOOK ON THE CRIME
I like how they look back on the killers life to try to understand possibly why? some people comment it shouldn’t be that way but how many times do you hear a case and just wonder why?! then it all makes sense because they have been crazy since childhood! like the guy who tried to burn his whole family (#71), as a child then later killed his wife 🤷🏻‍♀️ ...not sure why some people write reviews of specific episodes to discuss? esp without specifying which episode...Also I liked it better when just one person tells the story the newer episodes with guests I don't like. I see some comments about your voice but that voice definitely makes the show awesome!
