    Just What I Need
The format is perfect for me. I learn best by focusing on a small "chunk" until I master it. I am overwhelmed at time with other with other format--too much information in too short of time.

    Best I’ve Found!
As a comeback musician with a preference for Jazz, this podcast has been THE one I use to improve. Nick’s short, but very educational, format helps keep the listener focused with actionable steps. It’s so nice to be able to review and select the episode topics in whatever order works best for you. The Patreon subscription to receive the PDF examples, exercises and audio examples is a bargain!

I have really started using Nick's info and it is bringing me back to how I played years ago. certainly need to do much more because i have a long way to go. even if i don't play with an episode just listening to the info is educational. I just recently listened to the episode about his technique for practicing starting at MM50 and am really excited about starting it. he's delivery is interesting and captivating and as he says "a page turner"

The lesson is 10 mins but the practicing is for hours!
Love these lessons. Well crafted and useful. I also signed up on Patrician to get the PDF files. At $3 a month it is a steal, yiu can’t beat that deal. So many good ideas for what to practice.

    Great info for all
Impressed with this podcast so much. I am an intermediate piano student transitioning from classical to jazz and Nicks info is spot on and not presented with a bunch of sales hype like other similar podcasts.

Great for all students of jazz
Such a valuable podcast for musicians. He is really good at coming up with topics and giving an oveview of them in a concise and understandable manner . I've been a musician for 30 years, and many of these episodes have been filling in gaps in my music theory knowledge or explained things in a way that made more sense than how I originally learned them.

    Very Helpful Informtion
Episode 73 - Contrafacts. This lesson provided straight forward suggestions and explanateions that I can actually put to use. Short and to the point. I am looking forward to part two next week when Nick discussed modifying the changes to fit your new melody.

    Awesome Stuff--Keep it all available
love this cast. Bite-sized material that you can really master and incorporate into your playing. My one suggestion--keep all of the podcasts available in iTunes. Right now it seems only the most recent 10 stay on. Those of us who come recently would love to get back to the earlier episodes. Keep up the good work!

I am a big time fan of this Cast!!!!im a guitarist with 30 years of experience.I decided to pick up the Tenor&Alto sax,and had No experience with Woodwinds or Jazz(I'm a Bluesman).Starting from scratch,I utilized YouTube and Google for information, and by chance stumbled upon the 10 minute Jazz Lesson, and immediately took to learning approach notes,II-V phrases, and the nuts and bolts of playing Jazz and Bebop on my beloved Martin Committee III Horn's.I stream and re stream the lessons to soak up the plethora of knowledge that Nick M. Generously and graciously shares.Thank you Nick, and thank you fellow jazz and Beboppers. Trav Moody

Excellent presentation of jazz harmony and theory
Nick Mainella has developed a clear, direct method of explaining and demonstrating building blocks for learning, practicing, and incorporating jazz theory in my playing. He makes it fun and demystifies harmonic concepts. The PDF materials you can download will guide practicing, and build a textbook of reference material. I look forward to each episode!

10 minutes that will keep you busy for hours
So much information but given out in an amount a non-pro player can digest. This podcast can be your weekly lesson especially if one works on applying the concepts to songs. Some weeks it's still too much to retain.
