Drea223Great PodCast for New VocalistsThank you so much for your podcast John. I am new to the world of singing and your podcast really has opened the door to me learning so much more about the voice and how it is connected to every part of life.

seanleesikesThankful for a GIVER LIKE JOHNAs a worker for non profits for years, I have determined that a non profits goal should be to eventually put themselves out of business....You may understand what I’m speaking about if you truly are a GIVER, and only have others best interest at heart. John shares so much excellent information on singing, that if one studies on their own and skillfully practices what is learned, John could eventually put himself out of vocal teaching business!!! John is truly a professional who is intelligent, funny, frank, and a wealth of knowledge! I discovered this podcast only 8 episodes ago...with many more to go! Thank you John Henny, and thank you for your mention of the podcast called the “Inner Singer”. The two podcasts go “hand in hand “! (Sean Sikes from Fairfield Bay, Arkansas)Just Do It!

nikkigedGreat podcast for singers and teachersI’m a voice teacher and I’ve met John several times at teacher conferences and he has an amazing ability to take complex concepts and make them simple to understand. My other teacher/singer friend told me she had been listening to his podcast a while back so I followed suit and was hooked! I recommend this podcast to my students who like to get more in depth with their voice knowledge and they Always love it! Super helpful show when I just need a boost with my teaching or singing motivation! Highly recommend!!!!

Essie_sunflowerA Well Done Podcast!I found John Henny’s Youtube channel through a BTS performance review, and checked out the podcast because I have an interest in singing. I scrolled through and quickly found an episode on a topic I have needed help with. The musical education is well balanced with anecdotes that show the experience he must have as a musician and a teacher. The information is presented in an approachable way and is so well communicated that even someone who has never taken a voice lesson in their life can find useful tips. I also appreciate the shorter, succinct format. It is focused and is not intimidating to get into. Highly, highly recommend!!

Dirk McQuickleyLOVE this PodcastI tuned into and subscribed to John’s podcast a few years ago along with a few others. I listened every once in a while but not regularly. During Our Year of Covid, I rediscovered it and I’m going through all of the episodes. It is my favorite of the heap. Henny’s tips, info, and insight is really great and it’s dead on (from my experience of 40 years of singing in bands). There are so many Vocal ‘Maestros’ or vocal charlatans out there (YouTube) that’re really better at Marketing as opposed to singing and discussing singing. BEWARE of these folks because once you’ve damaged your voice, it’s a b*tch to get it back. The Intelligent Vocalist really has some great information, I highly recommend it.

camillevnRecommended for singers & teachers at any levelThank you for sharing your thoughts and expertise, John! Great info, easy to understand, and I strongly encourage my students to listen, too.

Sir Charles IIMagnifiqueI studied voice many years ago and was all consumed and passionate about everything I was learning. Life intervened and detoured me away from my first love...music and singing in particular. I stumbled upon John's YouTube critiques which lead me here. Every insight and bit of info takes me back to those many frustrated days in the studio and being so grateful to have stayed with it to come out on the other side! All serious vocal students and teachers should give his series a listen! Excellent information and I feel like I'm one of his personal students the way everything is articulated!! 👍🏾❤️

Oversleeping a lotMaking an impactThis is a great podcast for vocal professionals and beginner singers alike. From the standpoint of a voice teacher, I would have no reservations about recommending it to my students. In fact, I would highly encourage them to listen and learn!

Gregotuy162Absolutely incredibleListened to one other vocal podcast (which I hated) before begin recommended this one by my vocal coach… this serves as excellent supplementary material for serious singers

wifey437John Henny is a genius!!!His insights have been priceless to me and more times than not, I have walked away speechless, with a blown mind and a full heart. His words are not only beautifully articulated, but they are powerfully encouraging and make me want to keep trying. This podcast has meant so much to me and has given me hope that I CAN grow to become an intelligent vocalist. Thank you so much!

allison_hillFavorite Vocal Podcast! This podcast seamlessly combines the science, artistry, and psychology of singing. It has inspired me to sing with joy and has given me a better understanding of the mechanics of the vocal system. Also, you have a chance to take lessons with John, DO IT!!! He is encouraging, patient, and most importantly effective as he diagnoses vocal issues and gives you tools for success. Although I am an experienced singer, within a handful of lessons, John helped me discover a rich vocal tone I didn’t know existed. Thank you, John!

InfidollA Must-Listen For Vocalists!I recently discovered podcasts. Crazy right? I live under a rock! Anyway, I’m a vocalist who took on the project of fronting a band with seriously challenging material. I’ve been busy for over a year trying to get my voice up to par. I talk about voice issues, exercises, new breakthroughs, etc. so much everyone around me is sick of hearing it. Then I came across this podcast talking nerd vocalist stuff. I LOVE nerd vocalist stuff! John runs the gamut with everything from health, vocal science, exercise, to confidence issues. He’s humble about it all being his opinion and it’s an enjoyable, high quality podcast. If you are or have always wanted to be a singer, you will love this! Thank you for all the work you put into this podcast! ❤️

ADHD SingerZenJohn has the incredible ability to keep your ears tuned-in, even if you’re super ADHD, as am I. His information is direct and concise with great clarity and ease of comprehension. His gift of speaking and warmth and are amongst the beat in the game. This podcast, along with everything John touches is truly a gift to humanity.
-
RahqiIt’s like you’re a Mind Reader! Thanks John Henny! This is beyond excellent for singer-songwriters . Episode 28 really gave me a much needed push for using more emotion with my own songs; definitely makes a WORLD of difference. Thanks again!!

Marty KlugerAspiring baritoneAfer hearing nine or more of these podcast episodes, I conclude with conviction that John Henny is himself the Intelligent Vocalist. His podcasts are packed full of useful insights shared freely. What's more, they're fun and easy to take in. He's obviously got a ton of experience and a gift for communicating his knowledge to others. Thank you John for kick-starting my journey into a serious and now more intelligent approach to singing!
