This show is 80% ads, no exaggeration. What used to be a supernatural podcast is now true crime or something that turns out to be a misunderstanding.

Still my absolute favorite podcast of all time. I will never miss an episode!

...can see how too much Terry can get old. People want the stories, man. Maybe that’s why Malichi pisses on your shirt and always sounds pained and annoyed. Give the cat a break and don’t talk so much at the intro. Get to the point. Give the people what they want... and what is that? The people want Terry to shut up and get to the stories. In small doses, he can be very funny. But an overdose of a good thing still requires getting your stomach pumped.

I used to LOVE this show and recommended it to everyone I know. But now it’s 40 minute episodes and MAYBE 10 minutes of story. The rest is ads and Terry. I understand needing ads but there’s MORE ADS THAN CONTENT. It’s absurd. There’s a difference between making a good living and just being greedy.

I’ve only listened to the first two seasons (partly due to reviews about later seasons) and love it. I re-listen every October on the long car rides up to my family cabin. Crematorium and Laura of the woods are SO GOOD, I’d recommend them to anyone. Crematorium has stuck with me for years.

This is seriously my all time favorite… my only complaints are the seasons are so short and I can’t find merch for it anywhere! Seriously if you grew up with Unsolved Mysteries and loved it, give this a listen

Very very little storytelling. The majority of the podcast is Terry blathering on and also an obscene amount of ads. The last 5-6 minutes is just some lady reading all the credits. Two stories only a few minutes long each and they’re dumb. What happened???? This used to be so good.

This podcast used to be my favorite. What happened to skin walkers and ghosts and weird stuff. This season are the lamest stories. Not scary or creepy at all. I thought with all the months off you guys were gathering good interviews. It’s a shame. Hopefully you’re saving the best for the last this October.

I used to look forward to this pod. Now more than half of each ep is ads and talking leading into the stories themselves. The stories come off as lazy now. They take plenty of time off where they can create something worthwhile, but they don’t. Wasted potential :(

I absolutely love Radio Rental!!! Never gets old! All the stories are great, and I got sad when I realized I was all caught up! More radio rental !!!

Agree with most of the reviews. Been listening since Season 1 and the stories just have gone down hill. A lot of build up to no outcome. They let someone tell a story about knocking on a window for 20 minutes and that was it. If you are doing this show in seasons, at least let the content reflect the effort of the time off.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I’d really like more stories and less Terry. The stories are great. Production is good. Sound design is awesome. Terry is annoying. Rainn was cute for about two episodes.

I had a lot of hopes for this podcast especially after season one. Unfortunately, it’s too much talking from the fictional host, a TON of ads, and the stories have become extremely lackluster. I really hope things turn around in the future.

How many more ads can you put on one episode?

Season 1 was so good that I continue to listen in hopes that it’ll get better. Unfortunately, every season since has been boring and worse than any run of the mill true crime podcast. I miss the craziness that was Radio Rental. This needs to be fixed.

This show used to be great and spooky- if occasionally far fetched. But always fun and “out there” stories. Now they are stalkings and near shark attacks? That’s not weird. That’s barely news. I WANT THE WEIRD BACK!

I’m fairly conflicted with this show, while the stories themselves are largely pretty decent, the elements around them could probably use a second pass. Wilson’s character, while well-performed, kind of comes off as a low-rent Cecil from ‘Welcome to Night Vale’ in the writing. There’s also some extremely jarring tonal shifts between the submitted stories where someone could be bearing their soul about them nearly dying, and then the tone of the bumpers performed by Wilson completely break the mood established by the stories themselves. At their worst they seem like an ill fit to the point of it almost coming across as flippant. Between that and how the ads will occasionally interrupt the stories and even cut them short, it’s hard to recommend this pod to other people even if I do think there’s some really excellent stuff in them. With some sharper writing for the Terry segments, and more thorough editing for the ad breaks (episode 17 in particular seemed to cut the story off altogether to run an ad, then the closing bumper for the episode); I’d probably call this an instant recommendation.

This podcast like all the others from TenderfootTv are just , very well done. And what a treat to have Rainn , and his perfect ,incredible ,and yes 100% up to par with will Farrell humor! Rainn, in a talking to death episode says he is a little funny not up to par with Will Farrell and others like him . I completely disagree, need to give yourself a lot more credit if you ever read this sir! He makes up 50% of this show , the other 50% are the courageous people who tell the stories! Well, like my good friend Terry Carnation, I’m going off on a rant again. So bottom line people who read this. FOLLOW THIS SHOW!! Listen to All the episodes! It’s fun and unsettling at the same time!! It’s amazing with award winning quality!!

This show checks all the boxes for me, ones I didn’t even know I needed! As a child of the 80’s, that grew up watching Unsolved Mysteries & the X-Files, this podcast piques my interest with every new episode. Terry Carnation & Malachi’s silly antics bring balance to this otherwise hauntingly twisted page turner.

Long time listener here and updating…tired of Terry now….its played out and we don’t need to hear anymore of his rantings…please give us more complete true stories! I have listened to every season of RR two times through! My entire family listens to it now as well. Thank you for the scares and genuine stories!! Keep it up!

Great stuff except for the weird cosplaying as a struggling small business… like dude you were on The Office… why you fronting as some struggling working class small business owner lol? Just play the ads… no need to preface it with some rationale as if you’re “struggling”. You’re not struggling to pay the bills. You’re a successful actor. It just feels really slimy. Also the scripted intro on episode 5. Portraying cats as prone to unprovoked aggression only serves to further animal abuse. Domestic house cats are very unlikely to be violent when unprovoked- unless they‘ve been previously abused or lived a prolonged life outdoors vulnerable to other animals, cars, or people terrorizing them due to being taught that cats are prone to unprovoked aggression. It’s a vicious cycle. Not taking off any stars bc I don’t like leaving bad reviews. But I just figured I’d say my piece.

I absolutely LOVED this show when it first started, but over the years, the stories have become much less scary. There were several episodes early on that still stick with me, including Laura in the Woods, and an episode on sleep paralysis. Have started listening to Spooked instead for my scary fix!

I have shuffled through many-a-true crime/spooky stories podcasts and definitely haven’t found anything that compares to Radio Rental! It’s the only podcast that I can proudly say I binge listen to. I LOVE the production and how the scary stories are told in a very cinematic way. The sound design is next level spooky and really adds to the ambiance of the creepy tales. Terry Carnation is the best host too. I love hearing Rainn Wilson’s voice in between the stories. It brings me back to the calming sensations I get when watching my favorite comfort show (which I’m sure you all know what I’m talking about) and really helps add a touch of humor to otherwise quite freaky personal stories. I was really sad the other day when I went to see which “unplayed” episodes I had left and saw that there were only three left! Ahh! What will I do until there are more stories?! Re-listen to them all again, of course, but I hope you continue to come out with more of these episodes as they are just overall so well done and produced and really help make my lil nostalgic heart feel like I’m visiting a vhs movie rental store again. These episodes are truly like little movies! Love that. Thank you so much to all who help make this podcast. I love it, Payne Lindsey, and ALL that Tenderfoot puts out into he world. I love this podcast so much. I have listened to every single episode & it never fails to keep me entertained. However, I feel like there are too many breaks and ads. It feels like it just started up again & then next thing you know I have to wait months again. I would love to get the bonus episodes but they’re so short it doesn’t seem worth the money.

I listen to this podcast almost every day it’s so good keeps me on my toes!

I love the format. Each episode has been well writen and voice acted through the episodes I've listened to so far. Some of the contenct is disturbing but then you also get "If you keep going this fast, I'm never going to catch you!" ;) This is joining my very short list of regularly listened to Podcasts. Anyone who disagrees is a disgrace to their family

when i heard the story “we destroyed a homeless man’s stuff and he GOT MAD AT US” as if the homeless man was the villain i knew this show was done.

The stories themselves are great but this podcast has more ads than any other and the subscriber version doesn’t release often enough to make it worth the money over time. I also get that people like Rainn Wilson but the schtick takes longer than the actual scary stories. Come on!!!
