    Great show
A really really great show that I once in a while check hopelessly & realize that there will never be new episodes. This is evergreen content though, give it a listen.

Excellent podcasts for college football fans
I really enjoyed all of the 8 episodes, especially as many of them covered topics that were not likely big enough to get their own 30 for 30! There is so much material and potential of new episodes out there. Please make more episodes Ivan!! -Nick “T-Bone-Tarone”

    Ivan Rocks
Ivan is the best! Please give us more episodes!

    CFB 150!
Maisel proves himself to be a master story teller. Yes, it’s about CFB, but still so much more. It’s about life, death, racial tensions, controversy, heroes, villains, rising and falling. It’s stories about life, interconnected by that great sport we all love. May we have some more, please?!?

    Ivan is unreal

Best college football stories of all time
Ivan Maisel and his team have created an essential podcast for any fan of college football—hell, for any fan of sports. Excellent storytelling with full cultural context that shows what it is that makes college football the greatest sport on the planet. And the great sound design and editing make it entertaining and easy on the ears.

Wish this was a regular thing
What an informative podcast! I’m not an uber football fan - I love my team and am interested in the history and dynamics, but stats fly out of my head and I find it difficult keeping track of players and the chaos of a whole conference sometimes. I was intimidated at first listening to this, but it was fascinating. I wish there were more! The only tiny gripe I had were the ads - I prefer ads to be before or after a podcast, but if they need to be in the middle I appreciate a cue letting me know that it’s ad time. Some podcasts use a little bit of music/sound or some simply say that they’ll be back after the break.

    Great listen
If you’re a fan of college football or history this is the best podcast I’ve heard. Only down side is that there’s only 8 episodes so far, hopefully there are plenty more to come.

    Excellent
Great stories of college football history. Must listen.

Good content but not enough episodes
I love the stories this podcast tells, but I am disappointed that there aren’t more episodes. There are countless crazy stories throughout 150 years of college football so there shouldn’t be a problem coming up with new episodes.

    Are you done?
Will you be releasing any new stories soon? Or is that it?

    It’s great but...
There are only going to be eight episodes to cover 150 years of college football? These eight episodes only scratched the surface of all the history of college football. With only eight episodes, it feels like a few random college football stories, not a podcast covering 150 years of the sport. This should be a season long podcast. How can you not even do one on Paul W. Bryant?

Great for any fan of college football
Interesting stories that are really well researched and presented. Honestly my only complaint is that I want more and it sounds like they’re done making them. Would love to have this as on going podcast!

Ivan Maisel is the quintessential historian of college football and an excellent story teller.

    I didn’t know that!
These are really cool. Ivan presents these perfectly: organized, understated, concise, interesting. And his Keith Jackson-Pat Summerall voice is perfect for college football 🏈

    Critical information
This podcast series is a must listen for fans of the game. I could listen to a hundred and fifty episodes of this show. Thank you for the entertainment, and thank you for adding to the historical record of the sport.

Give Ivan a Regular Podcast! We miss him!
Ivan is the best thing ESPN has going for college football, maybe any sport! Please give him back a regular podcast to talk all things college football. Down and Distance has been great. Thanks, Ivan!

    Don’t stop
Ivan has always been great on podcasts. This is by far perfect for his story telling ability and knowledge of the game. This needs to continue until he can’t find any more stories to tell. Don’t stop based on a limit set beforehand.

    Good podcast
I learned so much about US history, regional differences, and culture oh and football too. Thank you Ivan and ESPN

    Terrific podcast!
Ivan tells interesting stories about slices of CFB over the last 150 years. Great job!

    Audiobook
Podcast on history of college football. A bit dry, just Ivan reading from a script. More of a short audiobook.
  • mil95031
    Perfect
Ivan has an unparalleled knowledge of the history of the game. The stories are great, production is high quality, and no hot takes are included. The perfect way to celebrate 150 years of college football. The only thing missing is Beano.
  • Murrame
    Great stories!
I’ve enjoyed the series so far. Well researched, written and reported. Please consider production edit - separate the report from the ads/sponsors with a music bump, or something/anything.
  • lizzygo
    Great podcast!
I enjoyed the first 4 episodes. Very well produced and interesting podcast. A must for any college football fan!

Ivan is a true, classic storyteller. These are great.

    Ivan is the man
It’s really too bad that campus conversation wasn’t continued. Loved the format of that podcast. This will definitely help fill that void, Ivan is probably the smartest mind there is discussing college football so if you’re a fan this is a podcast you really need to subscribe to.
  • imabuki
    Please keep this podcast coming
I’m a huge cfb fan but I am not that aware of a lot of the history of the sport (especially outside of the b1g region). I wish this would be an ongoing podcast and not just for this season. Ivan is great at telling stories and is incredibly knowledgeable. Keep up the great work.
  • Dog Money
    Ivan is the best
There is no better storyteller about College Football history then Ivan. He is also unrivaled with putting what’s going on in the game today in proper perspective. Campus Conversation was an outstanding podcast that I already miss but this is a step in filling that void.

    Great show

    Great show
Ivan is a great story teller and messenger for this great game. Only wish Beano was here too to lend a hand.
  • Graves9
    FANTASTIC
Just like the other reviews have pointed out, Ivan is a marvelous story teller. It’s not just his love of the game itself that shines through, but also his love of the history of the game. A wonderful project to mark the 150th anniversary of college football.

Ivan Maisel says jump, you say...
It must be college football season because he wants to measure my vertical. And who better to enjoy it with than the espn pigskin wordsmith savant. Lookin forward to each episode. In the words of a famous NY Jet, ”Can’t Wait!”
  • McKdaddy2
Looking forward to all Ivan Maisel ....
cfb tales and history. So great on Campus Conversations and the previously named college football podcast. Speaking of which, will there be no more Campus Conversations cfb podcast?
