I would bring my phone, my air pods, and a wireless router to connect to internet, just to be able to tune in weekly to this podcast. It is appropriately nerdy, and by that I mean it is very nerdy and also very smart and funny. I like them both equally so don’t make me choose a favorite please!

I have been listening to the show since Episode 89 (Godzilla) and I really enjoy the content and friendly sibling-like banter. ?uestlove seems to be really in tune with nerd culture so I am sure if anyone at 30 Rock listens and reviews he may be the one. Saw Hobbs and Shaw last weekend and my teenage daughters want to smell what the Rock is cooking. Random though: I had to skip listening to the ASMR episode at work because it sounds very NSFW. If you do read this, I wrote it after listening to the Stan episode.

I was tempted to not give five stars just because I love hearing Jordan get angry about it, but I want so support the show so here you go!

I'm loving the respectful treatment you gave Chris Wong and ackowledging the difference between self-entitled trolls vs individuals and groups who are passionate about a subject. Also, I've been following Chris for a bit now and was surprised hearing about the fund raising done for suicide prevention and facilitating under-priviledged inner-city kids being able to watch Black Panther.

The hosts are great and they listen to their guests and understand them

For some reason politics is interjected out of nowhere. One host is optimistic for the fall of capitalism, the other calls conservative activists evil, and the final discuses systematic racism with the Trump administration. Keep in mind this was in a podcast reviewing news from SDCC.

They call themselves "fans of fans" and yet they come off as having so much disrespect for the fans. Between the hosts, Jordan Zakarin especially doesn't have much understanding of the topics. The guests are quite bad too. They contradict themselves continuously in their hypocritical discussions.

There's a lot of "geeky" analysis out there, but 'The Fandom Files,' is the real deal. Smart, funny, and actually informative, this is the podcast to listen to if you want to learn things about science fiction and fantasy you never knew before. Not just for hardcore nerds. This is for curious minds.

This humorous, insightful podcast is about conversation, not confrontation. The hosts, Emily and Jordan, dissect fandom without killing it and celebrate fandom without shilling it. Rather than simply holding court, they often cede the stage to their guests asking genuinely curious questions and getting enthusiastic-and often super-specific- answers. They also aren’t afraid to flex the format-like with the episode that focused on excerpts of erotic fan fiction!

This is the type of podcast I have been waiting for. There isn’t enough discussion about fandom in an organic sense. The media still doesn’t fully understand what fandom is really about. In recent years it’s become a little bit better with things like New York Comic Con, Marvel movies, cosplay, and Crunchyroll, but the general wide public still miss the point of what make fans so passionate. These guys really seem to know what they are talking about and bring out great guests in fandom. Keep up the good job, you got me as a fan!

Geek culture can be pretty toxic these days, but Fandom Files does a great job of highlighting really, really dedicated fans and reminding us why it’s fun to like something. Have I mentioned that some of these fans are really, really, reeaalllyyy dedicated? It’s a hoot.
