This podcast is my go to when I have nothing to do and I think it is such a good podcast that I try to listen to it every day

It’s like getting a backstage pass for your favorite historically-themed movies and TV shows!

I listened to this podcast for the first time in 2023! I am so sad that there won’t be any more new episodes particularly about The Crown, so I’m savoring each episode that exists. I dearly love the history knowledge brought to this show. This scratches an itch when one really wants to talk about a show and has no one to talk to about it! Thanks Susan and Beckett!

I love hearing the history chicks perspective on adaptations, especially “Anne with an E” for whatever reason I can only see the first episode of season two, and I’d love to hear their thoughts in the rest of the show.

Prior to this podcast, I hadn’t watched any of the shows/movies they discussed. Now I’ve seen them all. Netflix should be paying them to lure in those of us who didn’t believe there was any point in watching a new “Anne” remake!

I think this has a lot of great content especially re The Crown but they go off into tangents in about ten different directions then try to get back on the original topic. It’s really confusing and hard to follow. By the time they get done veering off, I’ve forgotten what they started out talking about. If they could reel this in somewhat, it’d be so much more enjoyable. They are clearly very intelligent women and informed except for saying the word “valet”, they say “val-et”. It’s pronounced “val- ay”. Not to nitpick but it stood out. They are very articulate professionals. One of them talks a lot more than the other one and I’m sorry, I don’t know either of their names but will learn them.

I really miss the crown recaps. I hope they decide to do this show again and do the rest of Sean 3, season 4 & season 1

Love all your insights, rabbit holes and detailed recaps. I love your other episodes but really hope more Crown episodes are coming!

There’s just some annoying side-convo’s when describing the show. Also, hosts need to realize listeners have already SEEN the episode, so hosts need to not kill us with detail upon detail.

Each week these 2 ladies choose a famous lady who's made her mark in our world, but actually it's just very interesting stories...Kinda like you're having coffee with witty, intelligent friends who know a lot about the subject. Really great, esp. while being cooped up because of Covid!

I love listening to The History Chicks and recently found out about Recappery. I have listened to season 2 but what happened with season 3? Will you keep recapping?

I absolutely love this podcast!! However, it makes me sad that they stoped doing the Anne with an E recaps. I love this show and love hearing other people’s opinions on it! Please reconsider recapping the rest of season two and three! Keep up the amazing work!!

I love these ladies and their take on history. I’ve been listen since they first started, pre 2010. Discovered them through Bowery Boys, also a fabulous podcast about New York City. Yes they maybe inconsistent some of the time as far as the wait period between programs but they also have other full time jobs; domestic support, which is a 24/7 job in case some of you didn’t know that! Love this podcast but the ladies are absolutely terrible at posting consistently....been about 3 months since they “started” recapping season 3 of The Crown. Really wish they could get it together and produce episodes on a regular basis.

Not at all sure this podcast could be any better. It’s as close to perfect as anything can be. Love all episodes, even the ones about which I was skeptical. Brilliant!

In the words of Becket everytime shes overwhelmed. " I just cannot"... with theese ladies I absolutely just ADORE them!! Cannot get enough of them. Ive plowed through all their episodes of the crown. SUCH Interesting facts about it all. I LOVE LOVE LOVE them. PS also listen to their Wallis Simpson on HIstory chix.... helps to understand the real facts behind the characters. In short. Never stop podcastig ladies I just love you to pieces.

You say rabbit hole I say connections. I have learned so many interesting facts beyond the main subject from those connections. Love the the dropping into history, media selections and the music! Especially like that podcast are at least an hour long sometimes more Bonus! Thank you for all the time you spend researching each fascinating subject!

I feel like I can’t watch the second season of Anne With An E without them! Season one was so good and they just do such a great job of acknowledging the original and/or historical (the Crown, etc.) material while also discussing the fun details of the current versions. Also listen to their Flagship podcast The History Chicks it’s so great.

Just discovered History Chicks and I love this podcast! Full disclosure, so far I’ve only listened to some of The Crown episodes and just finished part 1 of Marie Curie. Cannot wait to hear pt 2 but felt I should give the review first. They are good storytellers. In this Marie Curie episode in particular they also give enough important details and background information so that we get the context of the story. But they never lose sight of the main points and why these are so significant to us today. (I sometimes need to have the dots connected.) And mostly I like that they respect the rabbit holes!

I put on The Recappery when I have mindless work or need an auditory distraction at work. This podcast is a great way to stay up to date on what's coming out in the realm of historical fiction/television/movies.

I am enjoying the recap of The Crown. Yet Beckett’s consistent shutting down of Susan’s opinion is overwhelming. It is a continued theme in every episode that Susan’s interpretation of the show is wrong, but Beckett is always right, according to Beckett. If you are doing a show with someone else, work as a team with your cohost and be respectful of your difference of opinion. The Billy Graham talk in particular came off cringeworthy.

I’m obsessed with The Crown and this podcast has made me so happy. Thank you!

I love the History Chicks and really like The Recappery. I happen to like long podcasts so this works for me and how I use podcasts (tedious work tasks, long run training, painting my house)... keep it up and thank you!

The history chicks is a great podcast but this one is even better! The recaps are the best I have ever listened to- more details and info than actually watching the show. I listened before watching and it didn’t spoil anything- I think I enjoyed the show even more.

The Queen and Jackie, great episode. I would have thought they would have bonded over horses.

These ladies always manage to pick up on some detail of the show that I completely overlooked. Love this!

I LOVE The History Chicks. I was happy to find their original podcast about a year ago, and I can say this new show is just as good. The amount of historical detail, research, and insight they offer on the history The Crown is based on is extraordinary. I love the long episodes! The details really make the actual show more enjoyable for me.

Love this podcast. Love History Chicks. You guys rock. You guys are perfect to recap The Crown. That being said, I’m not a fan of 2 hour long podcasts. 2 hours is a huge ask of your fans.

Great show! So fun to listen to, great chemistry here. The added perspective oh historical knowledge really adds to one’s appreciation for the series. Only one nit to pick. I found it distracting that the ladies could not agree on the pronunciation of “Nasser” in episode one.

The History Chicks is my favorite podcast. When I found out that they were going to be hosting the Recappery, I was over the moon. A great deal of knowledge with that sparkling History Chicks rapport!
