Tom and Scott are so obviously reading scripts. If not it sure sounds like it. I thought this would be more like StuffYouShouldKnow but with less budget. It's nothing even remotly as good. SYSK might have a script too but it sounds like just two friends explaining stuff. SYSK's producer Jeri is also probably much better than CGC's. Background music is the worst. Too loud and for too long. Always having some music running which is mostly when the interviewed person is talking is terrible.

I used to love this show back when it was weekly with guests. Then they got rid of the guests and added in the TV pilot and movie episodes. I maybe listened to one in four of each of those. Now the “Chronicles” iteration is worse. I’m a big fan of Tom and Scott. I’ve listened to both of them almost daily for years. They hosted some of my earliest podcasts (Buzz Out Loud, ELR, The Instance), but this show is basically just them reading a scripted Wikipedia article now. It takes all the fun banter out of it. I’ve moved on to Geek Show to scratch my weekly geek news and discussion. I only listen to Current Geek Chronicles if I’ve completely caught up on all my other podcasts, and even then, I usually switch to music or an audiobook.

Used to look forward to the new week and the new show. Now I tend to find myself skipping a lot of episodes. I am a film fan, but I already listen to Film Sack which is a better show. Have not found a autopilot episode that I like. Honestly don't think neither needs to be in a show. Enjoyed the old format a lot better.

Man, this show is fantastic! The discussions are great and the competition at the end is so much fun! Miss the quizes though!

I can't name two better hosts than Scott and Tom, and this is the show of their's that I look forward to the most. It's loose, it's hillarious, it's got some of the greatest guests, and it even gives us a little taste of FourCast. One of the best!

I've followed Tom Merritt as his podcasting career has progressed, and he's one of the best at what he does. I found Scott Johnson because of Tom, and Scott is just fabulous. This podcast has provided hours of entertainment as well as some education/information too. I love it. I'm a proud Patreon supporter of this and two other podcasts Tom does (Cordkillers, Daily Tech News Show).

Really enjoy this podcast usually Saturday morning to learn what current geek headlines have been catching the group's attention that week.

I love this podcast and the news it provides. I also love the variety of hosts that are on each week to provide their commentary. The trivia portion is also enjoyable and sometimes laugh out loud funny as guest try to prove how much a "fan/expert" they truly are of the subject being quizzed on.

I listened to the first episode today and I have to say it's one of the strongest first episodes I have heard from any source. Not that this is surprising given the depth of experience and the wonderful synergy of the hosts as well as the guests. I can only say I would love it if the guests here were regulars but that is only because I love the interplay of all involved. Please keep up the great discussion and awesome topics and this will be added to my list of must listen to shows for sure!

I don't miss the long weekly version that stopped a few weeks ago, but I still listen to this. It's not on every day, so it's a nice surprise to see it on my iPod when it shows up. The listener's geeky stories are usually entertaining. It's only a few minutes a week - give it a try. Update - Boo! Boo! You had love in your hands and you gave it up.

I love Current Geek!!! but it's just not good right now. Where's the opening music?..the geeky email?..the show? Current Geek opened the door for me to FourCast & The Frogpants Network. I think of it as your flagship podcast. Most people will search "geek" than anything else. Bring back a weekly review show, it's easier on your schedules.

This show covers semi-geeky subjects... things that the mass media would consider geeky. While the true geeks are on to bigger and better things. For instance, if this podcast featured "geeky board games" they would pick Settlers of Catan or Ticket to Ride to cover, rather than Dominion, Galaxy Trucker, or Seven Wonders. The hosts are the most NON-geeky people ever. They know very little about classic geek cannon and would make any real geek shudder or yell at the speakers. The podcast is well done, but I wish the hosts actually cared about real geeky things and knew what they were talking about.

I only listened to the long version of the podcast. Since they have stopped the long version and only have the short I will no longer listen.
