    Favorite podcast
Love that papa JT is doing these 5 days a week. I listen during my morning exercise and knowing an episode is waiting for me helps get me out of the bed in the morning.

    daily feathers for us
Having a daily episode of papa Jtrain is like a light feathering for us listeners. Love the new format and that we got some singing back!!

    Rambling Man
Longg time listener. I love this pod, but since the new format it seems like he’s rambling to fill time, it’s about nothing and has no format. I feel like he does too many podcast. He needs to focus on quality not quantity!!

Can’t wait for him to perform in Raleigh
So I can stop hearing him say it

Pop Culture not my favorite subject, BUT…
Love Jared’s thoughts on Blake and her “Q rating” and the PR behind pop culture. So interesting. And I would be so irritated if I was booked at a food festival and got no food 😂

    Love this podcast
    Daily format is great!

    Stop with the “Likes”
Prefer the daily format over whatever was happening earlier in the year, especially with that annoying producer. However, couldn’t get through 5 minutes of the Alison Libby ep since every other word out of her mouth was “like” and then Jared starting to do it too. No wonder she’s not that popular

    Great Pod
Long-time listener. Always one of the first shows I listen to in my podcast rotation. Love the new daily eps so much. It’s great hearing Jared talk about more than just dating (although I do love that too).

    Hilarious
Listen every weekday morning and Jared is so funny! I love the length of the episodes, the topics and Jared ‘s hilarious but down to earth perspective. Jared says what everyone is thinking even when you don’t realize it!

    Love the new format!!!
Such an improvement from the previous format! Content is hilarious, engaging and quality is great. All in all, we just needed Jared, not all the other fluff!

    Love it but quiet mix
Love the show, especially the new daily format. Ticked Off Tuesday is literally perfect. Jared is one of my favorite podcast hosts and comedians — always so normal and reasonable. Good host > big guest any day! That said, I listed on the train to work and this pod’s audio is quieter than all my other shows so I have to turn my headphones wayyy up, then switching to a new pod or to IG blows my ears. Not sure if others have had the same issue or I’m just lucky but figured I’d mention it.

New format is back to what we love!
The January change was tough with audio issues and not enough structure and honestly just different from the original podcast that didn’t feel like it needed change. Loving the new daily format but mainly the Monday and Tuesday episodes which feel like the old j-train and coffee with j-train mixed together. All your best stuff! I still miss Shelby and wish you guys were still working together. Jared -Shelby episodes were the all time best!!

    Drab
Jared.. why do the pop culture round up when you’re too far removed from this content? It’s out of touch, unpleasant, and honestly condescending when you harp on details that just are false and lay judgement. Like 50% of the Kristin commentary was that she was in a LDR. The Montana Boys live in Nashville.. stick with genres that people actually tune into you for!! There are thousands of very successful pop culture podcasts where that’s their entire career, and they’re great at it.

    Time to feather some nuts
Longtime listener. The podcast has gone through many versions. This new format is great. Best it’s been in years. You’ve gotta love J-Train. He’s real and he’s so charismatic. It’s a great daily listen for some good laughs.
  • KellsBellsAtl
    Nice start to the day
I’ve been following the multiple format changes over the last 6 months and this daily podcast is my favorite version. The first “new” format felt like everyone was talking over one another. The second with the producer laughing (yes, I’m one of the miserable people who that drive crazy) was better, but this is the best. It’s low key and something nice to listen to in addition to my news morning podcasts.
  • likyfo
    Cheer up buttercup
Jared we all love you but you have been down bad lately, complaining on every episode not just Tuesdays. Miserable when fans talk to you. Pls cheer up.

    Ad read ratio to ep
Im an avid Jared fan and especially love UUP so comparing his old and Uup content to this new format…. I keep wanting to listen but these 20min episodes are 50% an ad read :(

    Love the new daily format!!!
Finally it’s back to what it was before the jan 2024 change!!!! Love the dating episodes and they’re higher quality than the produced format!! —— Old reviews: I used to be a loyal listener but had to unsubscribe after giving it weeks for it to improve. I recently listened to the new episode, and preferred it that it was just Jared without a guest. However, I still felt the producer laughing in the background was annoying, and because I still hate the audio issues, I probably have some bias against her, but I did not appreciate her chiming into the conversation as essentially the other guest. Frankly I’m surprised she’s hired to produce other people’s podcasts bc I’ve not been impressed with the producing since she’s started. Besides the sound quality, the actual sound of the transitions is way too fast - it needs to have a longer sound for people to realize a new subject is starting! Isn’t this obvious?

    Not loving the new layout
I’ve loved this podcast and always looked forward to hearing Jared on my morning podcast listens, but the new daily layout seems like it’s draining Jared and the episodes don’t have the same infectious energy that the old style used to have, or that Jared even has on the U Up? podcast. I subscribe to too many others that I enjoy to keep listening to this in its new, low energy, and frankly low effort (way too many ads for a ‘daily 20 minute bit size ep’ or whatever he says) style. Catch you on U Up, Jared!

    Mornings with Jared before work
Daily pod has been so fun. Coffee, blow drying hair, driving in traffic…all with Jared! Fun and relatable everyday.

    Love the daily format!
Have been a Jared fan since 2018 and I love this new format!! Shorter daily episodes are great, it’s so nice having new content every day!

    Love the daily format!
I have been a dedicated listener of Jtrain for many years and every episode constantly brings me a laugh. I am loving this new daily format, it’s reminding me of the old days! Also especially love the episodes where a good friend is on. You can feel the chemistry!

    I love the daily format!
Love this format! Sound quality is great! Sometimes I don’t have time to get into a hour plus podcast so I love being able to hear your humorous and relatable commentary sprinkled through the week. Or I save it up and listen to a couple at a time! Good thinking Jared! You mentioned a concern about new listeners .. I think a shorter listen is easy to share with a friend especially if you know a friend would appreciate one theme over another. Loving it all around!

    Mess
Jared. What is happening? The switch at the beginning of the year was tragic. I was so excited when you finally took the feedback and made the switch to the daily show. Yay we are getting back dating questions and luxury lounge. But what we are really getting is Jared rambling about nothing, retelling the same stories with zero energy and maybe one dating email and two luxury lounges. Get a therapist or call a friend to tell these stories to and bring back the podcast in its original form. It used to be great! You had fun guests, fun banter, funny stories. Now it’s just depressing and not entertaining at all. I know I don’t have to listen but I have been a Jared fan for many years with the podcast in my regular rotation, just want the old show back. It wasn’t broken, why did you try to fix it?
  • SarahK9412
    Needs a guest
Contrary to what I’m seeing from these other reviews, I find that the new daily format where Jared is typically recording solo to be incredibly monotonous. He spends most of the solo episodes complaining, and not in a way that’s intended to be funny like the luxury lounge. It’s just negative energy. Or he tries to fill in the second half of a conversation by predicting what someone might say in response to him and gets heated about the pretend discussion. There’s nobody there, buddy. I used to have this pod on my must-play rotation for the week, but I think I’m coming close to unsubscribing if it continues this direction.

    Daily format for the win!
The daily format is great. Love the shorter episodes with a more specific focus on each day.
  • Jens312810
    Yay!
Love this daily version of the pod. I’ve been a long time listener and Patreon subscriber and I had completely stopped listening to the regular pod when Jared changed the format to be with multiple guests at the same time/had the new producer. This daily version that is more along the lines of Coffee With Jtrain is so good!! It feels more authentic and not like Jared has to be “on.” Love that luxury lounge is back and that there is Q&A. Chit chat and pop culture are also great.

    I love J-Train
The new, daily J-Train episodes are really great. Though sometimes I miss being yelled at first thing in the morning with Jared going “HELLLLOOOOOOOO” sometimes, the new format is so valuable. Will continue to rec this to friends and fam!
  • pcf520
    Love the new format
I’ve been a listener for years and I’m so glad that Jared has gone to this solo, daily show format. That’s all we ever wanted!! The daily dose of jtrain is such a treat for when I need to put my brain on the shelf on any given weekday.

    The best

I can’t stomach giving you one star cause I love you
Updated review August: You did it Jared! YOU did it! That’s the pod. Love it. Hope it’s not too much for you to record at this capacity but you got this. I hope it’s sustainable 🙏🏼 —- Updated and last review: Can’t listen anymore Jared. Format is still a mess, sound is not worth the money you are paying, two guests are too many, where’s the good stuff (life advise and luxury lounge), why are you commenting on visuals/ videos on a podcast? Why are we spending the whole episode talking about New York City restaurants? I go to New York once a year. P.S. getting the political person was not a smart move, I got so annoyed by her saying democrats not voting for biden are single issue voters. As if voters aren’t allowed to care about one single thing as if their lives and freedom depend on that. I had to shut the episode immediately, but I appreciate your attempt to change the subject. It was however unsuccessful. I think the show would have been more successful had you changed one thing at a time. For example instead of having only comic guests get every content creator you want to have on the show (finance, chefs, stylists, travelers etc) and get tailored luxury lounge complaints or Jared emails to the guest. Will come back when you announce a change in format at UUP, I will go to your live show in March with the group chat. If it ain’t broken, don’t fix it. —- Updated brief review: Yelling level: obnoxiously high, I miss your whispering calming luxury lounge voice 😩 Segment intro: what’s wrong with some Jared music intros 😩😩 Guests: too many, too interruptive, explain the segments to them beforehand so they don’t talk over you. This makes the show way too laid back its reading borderline lazy Audio and visual balance: the narrative of the new show relies a lot on visual clips and videos. I get that you want to expand but please know this doesn’t align with podcast majority audience. I listen to podcasts while doing laundry cooking cleaning and driving. If I can’t follow 80% of your show without looking at my phone I really don’t see myself designating time to “watch it”. I suggest having one segment max that needs me to look. Otherwise post these segment separately on instagram or TikTok this is not made for podcasting. Luxury lounge: was the single best idea in the history of comedy and I’m sad to see you let it retire. I would have paid money for that. Collectively, while you are an amazing comic you are best when we see you as a friend giving day to day pep talk. The current episodes are not personal or relatable. In a current social media driven world, relatability is key. You have it why aren’t you using it? BRB crying. —- I’m an avid listener for 5 years, your voice lives in my head rent free. As fans, we totally understand with the New Year’s resolution and the need for change but the new format needs a better editing and a lot more structure. I get consolidating to one show but you can still keep segments that your audience gravitates towards (and you are great at such as giving advice). Here my unsolicited suggestions as someone who gives a da** about this show: 1- sound quality is awful, your home microphone was a lot better 2- one guest at a time, when you have more especially men they talk over each other and all I heard was bros laughing like they are in a barstool bar. Also if they won’t listen to you and respect your pod, don’t invite them. Remember we are here to listen to YOU. The guest is just a compliment. 3- name the segments, have some intro music, sing if you have to before each of them. The episode has to have a beginning, a few middles and an end. For example, Oversharing is a podcast that was so easy to follow from episode 1. Because they came with clear segments and explained what the segments were. This week’s show tbh was like chilling with male comedians after hours and turns out we don’t like that. 4- keep some of the old stuff we liked! Luxury lounge was GOLD and there was nothing like it out there. If it was a TV show I would pay money more for it. I’m worried someone will come and replicate your idea too! Maybe read only 1-2 emails of that. Same thing for relationship advice. I get that you hate overlapping with uup. So how about you tell your audience that you won’t read any romantic relationship advise here send to UUP, but everything else send to J train. 5- I get that you want to do the pop culture games thing you but it will take us a minute to get used to it. 6- I feel you made too many changes at once without the level of planning you expected this needs. I suggest you could have had jordana as your first guest to ease into all the changes as you guys have great chemistry and she doesn’t talk over you. Or even did it solo. 7- best of luck brother, will keep listening until the changes occur. Otherwise if it stays the same I will just keep listening to you on uup and morn the previous podcast.

    YES
I first got into this podcast with Jared’s daily shows during the pandemic. Lately I’ve been hoping that format would resurface, and I guess my dreams have come true. Way to keep working towards the best version of your content!

    Love the once a day!
Really excited for this switch to once a day and the more “alonecast” style. subdued jtrain is such a vibe and he’s such a good alone podcaster! I’m loving it so far and this has convinced me to subscribe to patreon.
