Love This Podcast Since Chance Came On
I was kinda wishy washy on this pod when it was Benjamin and Zac, but since Chance has stepped in I really feel like the show has hit its stride. I love the banter between them. Most importantly though, the hosts aren’t afraid to criticize Apple when needed, unlike another podcast that I listen to that also had a recent change of host. Keep up the great work guys!

Great podcast, just lose all the Twitter talk
Ben and Chance are a nice blend. Ben seems more technically knowledgeable and Chance is more on the fanboy side, similar to Zac. It’s a good back and forth of the different perspectives. The only thing I can’t stand is when they go on 10 minute rants comparing Twitter to threads. I don’t understand why that takes up space on an Apple centric podcast. Outside of that the podcast is great and always hits on the topics that came up that week.

    Great Podcast
Really enjoying this podcast, which I recently discovered. The Chance and Benjamin are super-knowledgeable about Apple and its products. Also the show is very chill and easy to listen to.

    Freaking phenomenal
God I miss Zac and his space obsession but this new Chance guy is the perfect substitution. This podcast is so interesting and it’s my source for Apple News every single day. Love you 9to5 team.

    Horrendous
Update...tried this podcast again. Still one star. The British guy is fine, but the other guy just drones on as well as talking way too much about boring stuff. I find myself skipping ahead every time he talks. Cannot he be more succinct and less tedious and irritating. His voice and delivery need lots of work. Unfocused, endless discussion that goes into pointless detail. The British host seems on the ball. However, the American host’s voice needs a huge amount of work though. It sounds like he has a constant cold (nasal droning) and his voice also projects an adolescent sound similar to a 15 year-old. This is distracting. Needs a lot of work to be listenable. Also, I started to count the use of the words “like” and “you know” in five minutes, but I gave up, the numbers were so large. Get some voice training, man! Why are you on any podcast. Update: I thought the Zac character was bad with all his blathering about space and his adolescent voice until the recent host change. OMG, it all got worse. This Chance guy should not be on any podcast. His energy level is one step above a corpse and projects no character at all. He speaks in a dull-witted monotone and has no chemistry with the Mayo guy. What were they thinking? There must be better co-hosts.

    Host change
The addition of Chance Miller kind of dampens the feeling of the show. While he is generally knowledgeable and significantly up-to-date on the latest goings-on in the Apple world, his energy is low, and the chemistry between him and Benjamin Mayo sounds more like a conference call than an at-ease conversation between friends

I enjoy the podcast but it’s way too quiet

    Great Apple Podcast
Amazing Apple podcast. I love the detailed, full length conversations these two get into. My favorite part of the week!

The only Apple-centric podcast I listen to
I’ve tried other Apple related podcasts like Connected, or ATP, but they get too technical on things and have these weird, nerdy, programmer jokes that go way over my head. Just not fun for me to listen to. I’ve shut those podcasts off more than once before completely stopping them all together. I appreciate Zac and Benjamin for keeping things toned down, and talk about things that I actually want to listen to. Just more on my level in a way. I always look forward to the next episode.

    Typical leftists
Like any other leftists, they can’t help but discuss how their political opinions are superior to everyone else. It’s always amusing to listen to some washed up losers saying how elon musk is stupid.

    Volume issues
This is a good podcast that would be better if you could hear it. The volume is consistently low even with the phone volume maxed out, and is made worse by the presenters speaking very softly and often trailing off as they finish a thought. I suspect that the presenters may be leaning into and then away from their microphones. A little post processing would help this show a lot.

    Awesome and interesting.
I drive for a living so you guys help pass my time while I’m working. Love the banter. I chime in all the time but hey nobody hears what I have to say 😂. Keep up the awesome work guys. I wouldn’t be upset with more content either.

    Horrible service!
Basically where ben Boozled into subscribing, regardless of whether you mind listen to ads or not, this app is pretty much useless without the paid version. In this day and age where every single thing is subscription, paying for all app downloads, paying for every single service available now we’re forced to pay for podcasts. In this particular situation This is a podcast that’s basically a long rant about learning about Apple products and services, to help with purchasing decisions, now we’re being told that we must subscribe just to be able to access!! I could care less about the ads, they don’t bother me but to actually force people be able to access. Ridiculous !!! r

    Good podcast
This is a good podcast but too Mac-centric… iPad, for example, is always the underdog here and looked down as a productivity tool…
  • Shuawesome
    A highlight of my week!
Keep up the great work! I love the hosts’ dynamic on this show. It brings a good balance to the topics discussed.
  • Tigzola
Long time listener, first time reviewing
I love your podcast to keep me up to date on all things Apple. And yes, if subscribing wouldn’t cost a gallon of gas, I would subscribe. Anyway, you guys need to watch Prehistoric Planet. I’m not sure how they did it, but the CGI is top notch!

    9to5Mac Democrat Hour
In the most recent episode, Zac had a racist outburst about Phil Schiller being replaced with “another old white guy,” and then the two boys spent the last ten minutes going on about vaccines. I could turn on CNN if I wanted this l garbage. Always causing alarmism about the Wuhan Flu as well.

    Not For Everyone
Extremely dismissive of other cultures and in the name of design. Sad to hear such blatant hypocrisy and bigotry.

    Problem with the subscriber edition
The subscriber edition goes on playing blank audio when ad reads happen. This seems like a broken experience. Before I realized what was happening I force quit the podcast app, disconnected and reconnected my AirPods Pro, and restarted my iPhone. Strangely one of these times I actually did start hearing the ad being read. I love the podcast so I paid for the subscription but this is a problem.
  • jonnswift13
    Subscriber Edition playing ads?
I love the podcast and want to support it, hence why I have a paid subscription…but why do all the episodes still play with ads? Please help!!

    Why
This is a technology show, I do not care about Ted Lasso just because it’s produced by Apple.
  • Kjolberg
Volume control during last episode was impossible
I love this podcast, but trying to manage volume for both Zac and Benjamin has been tough. Zac’s audio has been poor for quite awhile. In the latest episode I could barely hear Zac and had to turn the volume up so much that Benjamin was too loud.

    3 Year Listener
This used to be my favorite Apple Product podcast. It was nice to hear from relatable lay users of Apple products. But I’m considering stop listening this podcast. But honestly, I’ve been having a hard time relating to the host Zac. As someone else said it, looks like his focus is now on Space Explored - which I have no interest. Ben is great, has a genuine interest in Apple and the use of the device, instead of cycling through them for no reason. I feel bad to say this, but it might be time to replace Zac with someone else. I moved on to listen to other Apple related podcasts — AppleInsider has a pretty good one.
  • Mhc1315
Great podcast except for one thing...
In the last year or so Zach has become more and more negative and it’s seriously dragging on my enjoyment of the show. If I want snarky comments towards Apple I can look at any comment section anywhere. I really could not care less about zachs motorcycles or space obsession as well. Benjamin is fantastic. I love having the perspective from someone who can code and loves the products but doesn’t feel the need to buy what he doesn’t need.

    Poor audio week of 4/5/21
Zac’s audio is all messed up, poor quality. Every time he breaths is sounds like he is gasping for air or hitting a vape.
  • Shawnski01
Mix of common Apple News and blabbing
This podcast would be a lot shorter and easier to listen to if the blabbing and going off track would be kept to a minimum. Plus, I can’t stand the accent. Sorry 🤷🏼‍♂️
  • Movieguy43
    Poor audio
I like the content and conversation, but one of the hosts (the American) sounds like he’s locked in a bathroom and we’re listening from the other side of the door. A little annoying, so I don't listen on a regular basis.
  • Macbook_Guy
    Change of rating
I previously rated your podcast at 5 stars. Recently though, one of you has forgotten that you’re producing a professional podcast and have begun allowing all of the background noise of your house into the podcast. Very annoying. I’ll be unsubscribing now. Quite unfortunate, because I really enjoyed your show.
  • JTBrad1
Audio has really dropped in quality over the last few months.
I enjoy the weekly recap of the news and color commentary, but the audio has really dropped in quality substantially on Zac’s side (seems to be since he’s moved his focus to his Space site over 9to5Mac). I hate to say it, but he’s not carrying his weight in the show anymore, between constant background noise in his recording environment, to not taking the time to read a lot of the stories or have correct facts. He had two phones to review and Barry touched them enough to talk about them meaningfully on the show. I just can’t listen anymore if he’s there pulling down the show.

    Great Podcast!
I’ve been listening to this podcast for years. It’s great! They really understand the products and have a great knowledge base of Apple’s products and history.
  • PJTG
    Constant listener...
... but why is it taking so long for the weekly podcast to get online on Apple podcasts. It’s not even there by Friday morning, but recorded well before that. Or do I have that wrong? Otherwise 5 stars + In any case, as a sidelight, been pretty cool over the past 4 years or so to tag along with the two guys as they progress through young adulthood!
  • Kernal_Pan1c
3 stars for Benjamin and where’d chapter support go?
Benjamin is quite good at giving realistic Apple reviews. He’s good at calling out dumb decisions by Apple and giving props when deserved. Zac feels more like an Apple spokesman and it grows tiresome. Also, where did chapter support go? Used to be so helpful to only listen to topics I care about. Now you have no idea and just have to randomly bounce around in the episode. Why was this removed? My guess is advertising requested to remove.

    Make it two happy hours!
How can you be an Apple fan and not tune in to every episode? This podcast is clean, useful, and incredibly entertaining. Never delete your subscription, unless Apple happens to suddenly go out of business! These guys are hard-core Apples. The episodes are filled with knowledgable discussions that help all the Apple fans that don't get to attend WWDC every year keep up with the pack. Next season, give us 9to9 Mac! Unless, that's not physically possible... then just keep doing what you're doing. My only complaint is, they only give us five stars: here’s the rest: ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ ☆☆ ☆☆☆☆☆

    Good, solid and interesting info
These guys do a great job - one of the few podcasts I wish I could be part of.

Apple Fan boy taken to a new level
This week show starting off with a discussion of going to a theater to see “The Banker” and waiting on the credits to see if Apple is mentioned anywhere . I think Zac will be best to stick to the topics they wish to discuss as it pertains to the show and audience but there are topics as the one mentioned above that IMO the only person interested will be Zac. I think that needs to change or I will listen else where for my Apple News.
  • ChewLoma
Fun show, but Apple Fanboy detracks from show.
I’ve been listening to this podcast for the past 6 years and over that period of time, my interest in the show has begun to wane. It’s not because of the topics of the show, but mostly because Zac has mentioned in past episodes prioritizing Apple products over his own family, which I’ve found weird that he would make that public. Benjamin, the other host, is by far the best reason to listen to the show. Sorry Zac, but you’re choice of words and how you handle the show is frankly boring.

    Apple Products
Ummmm the name of the podcast is “9to5Mac” which is the first clue that the podcast is about Apple products. I love the in-depth coverage Zach and Ben give us. I learn so much from you guys. Please keep doing what you are doing.
  • aced411
Enjoyable but be aware of host bias
I’ve been listening to 9to5mac happy hour for a long time. The hosts do a great job and are fun to listen to if you like to geek out on Apple stuff. Just know going in that Zac (not Benjamin) is a super passionate Apple fanboy who has blinders on most of time.
  • Mhopman31
    Just awesome
I have been listening to podcasts for a long time now and I have been back and forth with this podcast. From what I have heard the past 2 or 3 episodes have me now keeping me subscribed and not bailing out on unsubscribing! Keep it up guys and love the great stuff on technology!!!!

    Great Podcast
I have subscribed to this podcast for about two years now and have finally decided to write a short review. I look forward to seeing this podcast drop into the podcast app each week. The subject matter is timely and the level of detail is appropriate. I love the discussions about the Apple Watch, AirPods, Homepod, etc. I learn something new each week so it is definitely worth my time. Keep up the good work!
  • Ghivi01
Too long for the info it provides
The 2 hosts most of the time are trying to think what they want to say on the fly and there are way too many little pauses. Vocabulary is the same of a teenager. Too many “like” and “kind”. Although I like the information being shared, I see myself frequently just quitting after 15 minutes. This podcast could be 30 instead of 90.
  • kylesethgray
    Love it!
Added this show to my collection of great shows with details about Apple software and technology. Keep it up!
  • dannykruger
    Always look forward to this!
Consistently one of my favorite to come across my feed. Long running, very knowledgeable hosts!

    Zach and Ben
Do a great job! I enjoy their insight and comments.
  • MustBeColin
    Hit or miss sometimes.
Sometimes we get a really good constructive episodes with some great dialogue. Other times it gets a bit whiny, still better than most.
  • StephenPatrick
Great updates in layman’s terms on all things Apple
Zack and Ben deliver a truly entertaining and informative podcast!
