Humans Who Make Games with Adam Conover

126

An intimate conversation with the creators of some of the world's most remarkable games, hosted by comedian and life-long gamer Adam Conover. This season I will talk with the developers of Portal, Assassin's Creed, Hyper Light Drifter and many more about what it’s like to make video games for a living, how they come up with their ideas, and their first memory of the medium.

    Deep dives into game development
Fantastic podcast. I wish it was still publishing episodes but the backlog is still worthwhile.

Great Deep Dive w/ Game Devs
There are too few places you can go to here deep conversations about game development, and this is a great one.

    It’s a great show... but...
I love this show. I’ve listened to every episode multiple times and found great enjoyment in it every time. My biggest complaint, however, is that the host tries to discuss his comedy career too much. If he were to tone that down, it would be a 5/5 podcast.. it just happens way too often for me to give it a 5/5 or even a 4/5. The people he interviews are great and the whole show is very informative. Overall I would recommend it.. just know you’ll be reminded of his comedic past quite often.

    I really like the show!
It’s really interesting all the guests they’ve gotten to come on the show, but I think Adam talks to much about his comedy background. It’s frustrating to listen to the devs talk about their inspirations and experiences and then hear Adam go on a tangent about how he prepares his standup routines :T

    Looking forward to more episodes.

    The host...
The host talks way to much.

Really great show but 2 much host
Not much to say but I love hearing from the devs, lots of awesome conversation, but i think Adam talks about himself a little 2 much in an effort to relate to the guests Other than that, I'd really like to see some people who make tabletop games on the show Exit: so stoked for the interview with Rich, I've been so into his music lately it's really serendipitous timing, but still Adam won't let his guests talk sometimes, he loves to explain the answers to the questions he asks! He could be a good host if he is willing to take a step back and remember that this isn't "Humans who host humans who make games"

    New commute show
I love hearing about the inspiration and design thoughts of devs I idolize. Adam having good knowledge of gaming is getting these devs to really talk. Highly recommend this show

Best game design show so far
I usually hate video game shows because they are fan-boys talking about games they like with no actual insight. This show goes deeper into design and has amazing guests. Highly recommended for game developers (aspiring or professional).

High quality interviews and great content!
Please keep it up! I can’t wait to hear of some of the devs a little less known, but still have loved every episode before. Thank you ;)

We need more podcasts like this!
Only a couple episodes in and it’s already become a staple podcast for my week! Please don’t stop making these. We need more game dev podcasts like this one!

    Really like the concept but....
I came here to listen to interviews of the developers, but the host seems to keep trying to interject and make it about himself. It’s an interview not a date.

    Really funny & surprisingly interesting!
I figured this would be a fun listen but was surprised at how hooked I got! Highly recommend!

    Great for inspiration
As a padawan game developer just getting started, its great to hear the stories of other game devs. It fuels my drive. Off to an epic start!

Enjoyed the content, not the Host
I don’t normally even leave reviews, especially somewhat “negative” ones. However, I’m a giant nerd.... love games, loves games of allll sorts. A lot of series I do get into the developer, the publisher, the teams the stories behind the game. I loved the first interview, I found it super interesting to head Edmond’s story. I did not really like Andy as the host, I think it could have been shorter and more focused on the developer as opposed to always reverting back somehow to Andy and his comedy career. I believe he is a legit nerd and that’s great, I just wish it was more focused on the developer. Sorry :/

    Novist gamer approved!
New to gaming so, I appreciate the behind the scenes discussion on how they're created. Appreciate it.

    Love the show, Adam!
I'm an indie developer and having the blunt, yet charming, Adam Conover interview indie devs is exactly what I didn't know I needed in my life! I'm hoping he eventually gets into detail about the dark-side of game development (namely in triple A games) the same way he touched upon on his Adam Ruins Everything show.

    Off to a great start!
I’m writing this after the preview dropped, so I can only say this show has great potential, but I’m in. The guests that are previewed are some of the best in the indie scene and it feels like a fun show with high energy. I’m excited to see where this goes and I hope to see some bigger creators in the future, as well as a wide array of careers to be featured.
