    Awesome show!
Watched Gareth on the smoking tire podcast on Youtube. Decided to check out this show and glad I did! Awesome show! Started at episode 1, listening to all. :)

    Soo funny
I like when the smart guy tells the other guy something and that guy does a silly voice

    Boy she pops!
Simply put, this is the greatest comedy podcast of all time. If you’ve never heard it yet, treat yourself to a listen. I recommend starting from the very beginning at episode one and working your way through. Some of those first few episodes really give you a glimpse into how this became such a successful podcast.

Stars and Stripes are not the Stars and bars.
Gareth, the stars and bars refers to the confederate flag, the actual confederate flag not the one shaped like an “x”. The Stars and Stripes is the nickname for the flag of the United States.

    Thank you.
I really enjoy your Podcast. It keeps me in a good mood while I am on the road. (I’m an escaped Felon). Jim

    Gary
I feel like this podcast should be subtitled, the radicalization of Gareth. Lol he started the pod as a liberal comedian, and after about 500 episodes is now a full blown radical lefty. Well done, Dave! You love to see it! The more you know, the more you realize how messed up it all is and what needs to be done about it. Keep up the excellent content. I love every episode! The world needs to know this stuff. It’s a crime that these stories have been swept under the rug and/or sanitized. Our education system in this country is garbage. Keep fighting the good fight! ✊🏼 #solidarity

The one-star reviews are from people who get mad at Dave for pronouncing words how they’re spelled.

    Funny and awesomely horrifying!!
Amazing subjects, great interplay between the hosts, and flat-out hilarious. Dave's laugh took some getting used to, but it's now just an endearing part of a great comedian. And they both are amazingly adept at European dialect, particularly Irish accents. I feel like I now know Michael Malloy personally. Thanks for the incredible (and twice weekly!!) show! **Edit 4/21/17 I went to the live Dollop show in SLC, and happened to run into Dave and Gar(eth)y on the street. They were delightful. :). After the show, they remembered bumping into me outside, signed my poster and took a bunch of pictures. Podcast content 10/10, Dave and Gary as humans are also 10/10.

A lot of jokes and some history
I've been listening to these two for quite a while now. It IS a history podcast. The subjects are generally interesting. Dave, the host, knows how to pronounce many words, but can't be bothered to learn things like pronunciation or definitions. That's fun. Gareth is genuinely funny, and without him the podcast would probably not exist. Unfortunately, thanks to a staggering number of "Jesus Christ" responses, he can now officially be replaced with a soundboard. Other than that, unneccessary laughter from Dave for fun and silly asides from Gareth sometimes kill the flow of the show so much you forget who is being talked about and why. Otherwise, it's a good listen.

    The Best Podcast!
This is the best podcast for Historical content as well as a great laugh. SO MANY great episodes over the last 10 years and counting!

    Fun facts and laughs!
I always recommend The Dollop (both the regular American podcast and England and UK) to anyone who likes weird facts, is decidedly irreverent and raunchy, and needs a good laugh. So basically, all the cool kids! Dave and Gareth never fail to fascinate and tickle me! (See what I did there?) P.S. I *adore* The Pasttimes!! As much as I love learning about obscure (and often important) history, I love those episodes even more! P.P.S. I hate to dock any stars, or say anything negative, but… well, despite being aligned with almost everything Gareth and Dave believe, Dave can be a lot to handle sometimes. His anger and rants get to be too much. Gareth, though, I’d listen to talk about literally anything, endlessly! (I’ve been loving We’re Here to Help as well!)

    Political agenda ruins the show
If Dave Anthony could just put together good episodes without trying to end them by drawing comparisons to modern problems that reinforce his extreme political opinions, this would be one of the biggest podcasts around. Using the platform to force your mindset on the listener is selfish and unprofessional as an educational host, especially when your opinions are college socialist tier. One doesn’t have to wonder why Dave has replies, comments and everything In between turned off on social media. Gareth is great on every other podcast i’ve heard him on, it seems like he just goes with most of it and doesn’t really care.

My biggest obsession. Thank you for this. Jesus really DOES love me. This is how I know. Because THIS exists. As does his spirit in us all. Deep inside.

    Must listen!
I love history and couldn’t believe my luck when I found this podcast. Amazing storytelling and laugh out loud moments every listen or re-listen.
  • smallysmalls96
    Started out pretty good
All of Dave’s jokes are either sex jokes or him pretending to be a woman, and his improv is not good. It would be better if he stuck to the story and let Garreth make the jokes. Also, it seems like Dave is sometimes uninformed and doesn’t do enough research into the topics. He ends up making up answers to questions and guessing instead of saying “I don’t know,” which is pretty lame.

    Tired or Uninspired?
I listened off and on for years but I can’t even get through an episode without completely losing interest these days. It feels like this went from being an American history podcast with comedy, to a comedy podcast with a story. Old episodes had amazing historically poignant stories full of twists, details, and thought provoking perceptions caused by looking at things from a modern lens. But now I rarely find the topics interesting, the comedy is almost entirely made up of inside jokes or a weird, forced tension between the hosts. Plus the production quality has taken a dive from bad balancing to tinny reverb, and each episode is told with such monotone that it’s hard to skip back if I missed something due to that lack of auditory cues. On top of all that the hosts sound like their being held hostage. Dave sounds like he hates being there, hates Gareth, hates the audience, and hates the podcast, while Gareth sounds like he’s jonesing for a cigarette and will get one if he can just make Dave laugh. I really wish they’d return to a format of storyteller and funny guy, instead of both of them battling for comedic supremacy. Or at least let Gareth in on the story so that the riffs can at least relate back to the topic better.

Dollop is Epic - plus rec for Past Times
The Dollop is such a great and unique show. I recommend it all the time. Everyone loves it Past Times is great but please - when you ask Garfie and the guest to guess, read the title of the first article. It’ll add a lot of fun

    Unbearable
Absolutely unbearable to listen to. This isn’t funny and the hosts just talk over each other. How is this a podcast?

    Funny But Dangerous
This podcast makes me laugh hard. So hard in fact that I’m nervous listening to it while driving, which is problematic, because I’m a trucker. It’s worth the risk, though.

    Conservatives: your input isn’t worthwhile
This show neither needs nor wants you as fans so go away. Be fascist somewhere else. Update: in spite of what some fools post, progressives cannot be fascists. Perhaps totalitarians, but fascism is fundamentally extreme rightism. Also: Dave Anthony is a dude I’d do all but catch a bullet for, because I think he’s that degree of correct about 99 percent of the time. Gareth is always perfectly either flabbergasted or hilarious. Their magic cannot be bottled nor explained. It’s the best podcast of all time.

    Serial killer oranges
I have learned so much from this podcast. Foremost is this, the secret to bodacious citrus is burying the bodies of you victims in your orchard.
  • SueQueRN
    Used to love
Don’t ever disagree with Dave about anything. I mildly disagreed with something he said (he expresses his opinions freely which I think is fine). Dave became very mean to me. Very. Then he blocked me on Twitter. I chose to then stop my Patreon support and stop listening.

    Funny Comedy w/ Some Draws
It’d be funnier if they didn’t tie everything back to their liberal political views.
  • Enterthewagon
No I really love these guys
If I knew history was funny I would’ve paid much more attention.
  • idksomeusername
    Hmm.
I feel like I’ve learned more about US history from the Dollop than Dave has. How can you read about other worldviews so much and not reflect on your own even once in like ten years? If something comes too close to challenging modern progressive thought they smugly laugh it off as people in the past just being soooo stupid and wacky hahah! I’ve listened since the double digit eps but they just sound desperate lately.

PGOAT - The Greatest Podcast of All Time
From Gareth (Darth Gary) & Dave consistently being hilarious to being an informative and educational tool to combat our disinformation era over 600+ episodes - there’s really no other pod that comes close in consistency and scope. Doing a NY version called The Brolic to follow in its footsteps. Hopefully comics & ppl who care about social justice and education in other cities will too to further the Dollop movement

    Life-changing, but…
Love the podcast, it changed my life, but they’re not perfect. I’m really disappointed about how Dave talked about a possible SA in episode 621. Would have been better to not include the story entirely. It was a not so veiled dig at the episode’s subject/potential victim and didn’t bring anything to the episode

    Audio quality
The audio could use some tweaking. Otherwise great show!
