Mike - please finish your sentences
I like this show and admire how much work and preparation Mike must put into the show. The guests are great and Mike is always prepared. My only issue with the show is how Mike expresses himself. It is hard to vibe with the conversations when Mike begins a thought, qualifies it with a complex thought, and then circles back to the original thought. Mike - stop qualifying and finish your sentences…pleeeeeezzzzeeee Otherwise, all good :)

I want to like this podcast….
But the host talks more than the guests! Mike, if you invite guests, let them speak. If you want to wax eloquently, then pick a topic and don’t have any guests.

    Quality topics and guests
Always interesting and I like how he goes beyond the basics of productivity.

Wish the host would let the guests speak more
I really want to like this podcast. The productivity nuggets and gems are there, and I appreciate that. The host brings on amazing guests on the show. HOWEVER, instead of making the most of the special guests he interviews, the host spends a lot of airtime elevating his own thoughts and his own opinions. In interviewing guests, the host often talks way too much, finds ways to point everything back to himself, and oftentimes cuts off the very people he interviews while they are trying to answer his questions. I understand that it is his show and he should be able to talk about whatever he wants. But why bring on the guests then if he would rather hijack the time to point things back to himself? I feel like I have to literally ENDURE the host in order *try* to hear what nuggets of wisdom the guest he brings on is trying to share. This podcast could be so much better. It has lots of potential if the host would just stop trying to take center stage during his interviews. Sure, if he has lots of opinions then don’t bring on a guest and just do a solo conversation…that would be fine. But if you bring on a guest, let’s give them the stage so they can truly explain and share without constantly being interrupted. Plus, do all the interview questions have to be so nuanced, complicated, and slanted? How about just ask them straight up cut-to-the chase questions?

    Some good interviews
Mike has a few interesting guests and there is almost always a useful takeaway or two in an episode. My one complaint is the crazy long ads break. Six minutes of ads? Really? That big ad block makes me turn it off midway through just about every episode.

    Time Waster
I just listened to the episode "Happy Days.” There was so little substance in these twenty minutes that it reminded me of those ads for people offering "get rich quick" classes but their own wealth only comes from selling get rich quick classes to suckers. It seems like the host is working on his own productivity by not spending a lot of time on making an episode, but as a result he shows no value for his listeners' time. (He hinted at as much, at one point saying in passing that you may have to let go of your own standards). For gosh sakes edit your podcast if you stumble and don't know what you're going to say or where it's going. But maybe it's by design. It was almost artful the way he said nothing of substance for the first 8 minutes, talking around things, painfully circling a point and then walking it back without really committing. Later in the episode there was a lot of jargon that came across as double-speak and I wondered if I was listening to performance art. Maybe other episodes with guests are better but this left such a negative impression on me that I won’t be back for more. I'm surprised this was one of the top results when I searched "productivity podcast" since it has less than 100 reviews.

    Too many embedded ads
I like this podcast...have listened to it for years. But lately, it’s just gotten hard to listen to. The embedded ads break up the flow of the discussion and I have to context-switch. Maybe take a lesson from Tim Ferriss...do them at the beginning?

    “Intentional & Attentional”
...is written with a sharpy pen on a small note, duct-taped to my desk. It’s one (of the many) nuggets I’ve learned from Mike Vardy about task management & how it can be woven into our daily lives in such a way that makes your feel great! Mike has an easy-going style, but is extremely wise. I guess that’s why people like Pat Flynn (& so many others) look to Mike Vardy as being the leading voice in Productivity today.

This is the productivity podcast to listen too
Don’t worry ladies. Don’t shy away! This Podcast with the great Mike Vardy covers insights from successful individuals in the business space. The range of coverage, again, is very strong with features focusing solely on marketing and others diving into health and fitness. There is lots of productivity-focused content here too. This podcast is definitely something you’ll enjoy if you like hearing stories of success and failure.

    Too Focused on Host
This podcast seems to be about the host and ways in which his guests can reflect on him. One hears a great deal about his successful strategies... And what do you think of my successful strategies? I would have preferred to hear more from the professionals being interviewed.

    Mary Lamia interview was lame.
Really not much substance with Mary Lamia. I thought I was listening to a drama coach. Generally like this podcast and yes I am a procrastinator, but didn’t get anything new here.

A worthy member of this commuter's listening list
I commute to work 35 min each way. Mike's podcast has become the perfect addition in my set of podcasts to listen to going to/from work. I appreciate, most, his intelligent question sets; eachinterview is tailored to use the guest's time very well in their spot. Conversations are lively and touch on detailed productivity themes, tools and techniques.

Easy to implement insights and great conversation
Love this podcast! Mike, as gracious as he is, doesn't shy away from tense conversation, which makes the show really engaging. And the topics are gold - every episode has more than one nugget that changed my perspective. Insights that stayed with me, and altered my behaviour. Do tune in!

Always great content about how to become a better person and accomplish more with your day, and ultimately your life. My favorite episode is the one about Priorities w/ Erik Fisherand Steve Dotto!

The best way to boost your productivity is to listen to Mike Vardy!
Just listened to Mike’s interview with Graham Allcot. Graham shares a really interesting insight into how maintaining Zen like calm is at the top if his list for productivity tips because most of the time, we think we will be calm once “something happens” or “something falls into place”. It’s a great reframe from Graham and I’m really interested in hearing more from Mike and his awesome guests.

Valuable insights on what it really means to be productive
What I appreciate most about The Productivityist Podcast is the fact that rather than just rehashing the old clichés about productivity, Mike and his guests go deeper, so the show reflects a lot of careful thought about what it means to live a truly productive, meaningful life. I enjoy the variety of perspectives brought by guests from different backgrounds, professions, and passions. More than once I've had to pause an episode to go get something to take notes with. Informative, motivating, and inspiring. I never miss an episode.

My productivity has increased drastically thanks to The Productivityist
I first heard Mike speak last year at SimpleREV and have been reading, listening to, and learning from him ever since. Between his blog, books, talks, and this podcast my productivity has drastically improved in just a matter of months. Mike lives and breathes this stuff, meaning he actually does it, instead of just recycling old recommendations. Thanks Mike!

Refreshingly good common sense ideas for personal productivity
Technology is not the sole solution for getting things done: it is the human at the center of the decision loop who arranges their tools and mindset to be productive in the face of real world challenges. Mike Vardy’s productivity tips and ideas highlight the “why” of the suggestion relative to what makes it work or not. Also, Mike Vardy’s guests are top-notch samples of successful individuals who have their own take on productivity tools and ideas, which reaffirms the notion that continuous evolution and re-assessment relative to work done (or not done) is a key to getting things done.

    How to ACTUALLY do things
If you’re not listening to this podcast, but your actually trying to do things using GTD or any similar system…you should start listening today. It’s a great investment of 30 minutes a week. I’m a somewhat-adherent to GTD. I believe in almost every facet of the system, but I have a really hard time applying the right tools to effect the process. I’ve been struggling with information overload for so long that I can’t remember a time it didn’t exist. When I recently discovered Mike Vardy and the Productivityist podcast it was like a fog had been lifted. The first few episodes I listened to presented a host of solutions to problems that I encounter every day. I began listening to each episode in earnest, several of them more than once. I’ve begun to make changes to my workflow, changes to the tools I’m using, and honed the way that I’ve used other existing tools with dramatic impact. Listening to this podcast is like sitting in Mike’s living room and observing his conversations with his guests. When he does a solo podcast, it really feels like he’s talking directly to you.
