    I want to love it
Poor choices were made when this was produced. You don’t need to have characters constantly talking over each other to create drama.

    Great
Love it. Just hate the transition music. Totally kills the mood!

    Just WOW
I am an avid audiobook listener but this is totally different. The dialogue and the actors were absolutely amazing! It just felt so real — haven’t experienced anything like it before. Bravo guys! You nailed it!

    Um
Why would you get rid of all the episodes? I’m new to podcasts and only want to binge entire seasons not wait every week for some new podcast episode.

    PODCAST is BETTER
Podcast cast is AMAZING. Thumbs down to gimlet for abandoning this podcast once you went to the “big screen”. I can’t believe gimlet is advertising for their new podcast. They didn’t even finish this podcast or Sandra. I won’t be listening to the new one, no thanks.

    Thinking about watching the show…don’t
First there was the podcast. Like novels turned into movies, the books are always better. The same sentiment applies here. The casting and the work the actors put into this show is great and it helps that the directors and producers of this show paid attention to detail. Just wished the original cast was brought over to the live action version. Love and respect Julia Roberts, but Catherine Keneer really brings her own to the role. To the reviewer upset about the missing episodes here on Apple Podcasts — it wasn’t always this way. Before Gimlet media was bought out by Spotify, all the episodes could be found wherever you would get your podcasts including, Google Play Music. (R.I.P.) The episodes are still free though…just consolidated to one platform; try Gimlet’s website.

    Great podcast. Horrible TV series.
Where to even begin? The podcast was exciting, and compelled me to listen. I was years late to the party, and had to find the TV series in hopes of following interesting characters to the end if the tale. I wish I hadn’t. Listen to the podcast, and stop there. The TV series is a star-studded flop. The writers should’ve stuck with the original story. The diversions from the original did nothing to improve the story. Season two was bizarre and deeply unsatisfying. I was interested in the story of the corrupt company and veterans. I was not seeking a drama about an interracial lesbian couple’s rise to power. The sub-plot hijacked the whole story. Having Joan Cusack parachute in as a jarringly and inexplicably deranged top dog who seized power out of thin air was about as logical as the Wicked Witch of the West crashing the Lollipop Guild’s welcome party. Walter, the central character, became a one-dimensional, unrelatable bit-part player. The ending was hollow. No justice was served. To add insult to an injurious ending, they closed out with the uncontested worst-ever version of “My Way.” And this was characteristic of all the poor music choices in this series. What a great pod that turned into a horrible TV series.

    Annoyed, irked, and disappointed
I found this podcast while browsing on Apple podcast, and the teaser sounded extremely interesting. However, I found to my dismay that only the teaser preview and the first episode are actually available on Apple. Apparently the rest have to be paid for on Spotify, which is fine, but why even put it on apple podcasts in the first place? These are supposed to be free podcasts that everyone can listen to and enjoy without having to pay for 15,000 other streaming subscriptions. Pretty Hurt, annoyed, disappointed, and overall fed up. The other reviews sounded promising as well, so I can only assume that most reviewers actually pay for Spotify. I personally use Apple Music. Guess I need to get used to paint podcast pay for Spotify.

The First Fiction Podcast that mattered
Better than the TV series, so listen to this before watching the show. Star-studded, and well acted. An intriguing story with a very satisfactory ending (unlike most fiction podcasts). The only reason for 4 stars is that the sound design is a tad underbaked. It has a nice, organic sound to it, but compared to modern fiction podcasts, it feels quickly assembled. In all, it's very deserving of being made into a series, and it's an important early entry in the first chapter of audio fiction.

Sounds really interesting....To bad you gotta $$$$$
I hate that they tease you with it and then at the last minute they tell you that it’s a paid podcast. Bunch of crap.

Great voice acting, ending is a letdown
Voice acting is fantastic- really draws you in and engrosses you. The plot is so-so, however. The second season feels like you’re just listening to coworkers bicker on the phone. And the drumbeat breaks are a little jolting. Overall, the biggest detractor though is that the ending just isn’t very satisfying.

    Perfect!
This is my new favorite podcast. It is beautifully written and acted. It delves into different types of manipulation and moral ambiguities. I listened to it in one day and I loved it! As for the drums, they truly are not that bad. I did not find them disruptive, this show is incredible.
  • travis010
Season 2 was disappointing, drums are annoying
As others have said, this may have been better as a one season podcast. Season 2 episodes are ultimately a bit boring - they don’t really go anywhere and the ending is unsatisfying. Also, I totally agree with those that find the drums in season 2 to be highly annoying. They are too loud and don’t fit in with the rest of the podcast.
  • JasmineBaggins
    Awesome
Incredible use of the medium! I actually refused to watch the show because I thought the podcast was so good I just wanted more of that.
  • Max10207
    Should’ve been a one-season show
Season 1 is very good, the writing and acting. Then they got cocky and added that ridiculous drum beat in Season 2 without even considering the audio balancing. As soon as Season 2 starts, it’s evident that they didn’t know where they were going and wanted to go for Season 3! It’s a shame. Could’ve been a great one-season show.
  • dirrtylarrry
    Worth a listen but...
What the heck is up with the very loud drumming in season two?
  • idontknow09876
    Loved it! Except...
The ending was a bit underwhelming for me. And as you may have seen in other reviews, the drum breaks in season two are wayyyy to excessive. Other than that I really enjoyed the story and voice acting
  • FieryNinjaMonkey
    I WAS going to listen........
I looked this up with the intention of listening, but after reading the comments I'm not going to. I would hate this drumming everyone's speaking of.
  • nuuurn
What is happening with the drums?
This show is awesome in season one, but I. Season 2....The drumming in between all of the dialogue is...so....bad, and so constant, that it almost makes listening to season two not worth it

    Hooked!
Finished in two days and was engrossed the whole time. Immersive audio and great editing and voice acting

Loved it except the drum beats
This show is amazing! The only negative was the horrid drum beats, I almost stopped listening because they were so annoying.

A favorite radio sci-fi drama. And I love any media with coming in the title

    FANTASTIC
I was so sad when this ended. It kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time.

    Great podcast
Good one to listen to, very different from a lot of podcasts. Probably won’t watch the series, weird to me that it’s not the same cast.

Loved season 1 of both the podcast and the Amazon series. The drumbeats during podcast breaks were unnecessary.

    Unsatisfying ending

Podcast series better than the TV series: Season 3 & 4
Please bring back the podcast version! The TV (Prime) version doesn’t have the same appeal or intrigue as the podcast version. I didn’t know I liked psychological thrillers until listening to this show.
  • BrokenChristian
    Excellent Drama
The first season starts slow but really gets you by the end. The second season is higher quality with variety of characters. The drum solos aren’t as bad as people are making it seem. If you want the next story podcast to follow during quarantine this and Blackout are solid choices.
  • Andreadev
    Loved the podcast... weird music
This podcast has a wonderful script and really talented voice actors (I mean clearly - just look at the cast). I binged the first two seasons in a day. However, it can really do without the strange musical interludes in season 2. Not sure what vibe they’re going for here. Jungle adventure? Limbo competition?
  • Mitchell*27
    Great Story; But...
I really liked the story and how everything unfolds; it’s worth the listening! But the music and drum solos in-between the scenes are very annoying and sometimes loud with long sequences.
  • LeahFein
    Better than the mini series!
Fantastic voice acting. Compelling story. Excellent.
  • Tristopher1988
    Pretty good
I enjoyed the story and the characters. Might check out the tv show soon 😊

    Drums
Why does the Music sounds like a pbs jungle show!??!?
  • angie mcq
    Please... edit out the drums
This was soooo good... and then... the drums. It took away from the story. And this cast should have been the cast for the Prime show.
  • paddle_on
Great story. Then the music started
What on earth is that horrible loud drumming between scenes. I have to fast forward to get passed. It makes me want to pull out my fingernails
  • Lovelypolly
Season 2 was a letdown for me
I thought season 1 was interesting and compelling but I could barely make it to the end of season 2. It was excruciating in my opinion. Not sure who the genius was who introduced the overly dramatic drum clanging music constantly in season 2 but it almost drove me to distraction. 🤯 I’ll be giving the tv version a big swerve! So much good quality tv out there nowadays no need to waste time with anything inferior.

    Video killed the...
Solid listen, great sound production as you’d expect from a Gimlet Show. Uses the radio format well - a series of belligerent cell convos and messages drives the story. ‘Season 3’ is just them rubbing themselves off because, unsurprisingly, a podcast full of TV stars is now a TV show. Love CK
Love Catherine Keener in this! Great story.
  • soccermaniac723
    Good if you’re bored
Actors are great. The plot line and character development is embarrassing. The episodes are extremely short and lack any depth. It’s only about halfway through season 2 that you even remotely know what’s happening. The TV show? Just as horrible. What a waste of talent on the writing.
  • i like pie and i am cool!!!!!
    so good!
I highly recommend this. It’s way better than the TV show version and tells such an interesting story.
  • Jack Ghareeb
    Amazing!
It’s an amazing show! If only Amazon or whatever hadn’t messed with it, and the story could have found a way to continue...

FINALLY - Radio fiction done right!
This is an incredible podcast. Draws you in and you just NEED to hear the rest. I’ve listened to various contemporary podcasts doing fiction and it’s usually hit or miss, usually miss. This gets everything right, just like the old radio shows of the past. Catherine Keener is phenomenal, and David Schwimmer is similarly great. I can’t wait to listen to Season 2...in fact, I’m not gonna. I’m gonna listen to it now.

    True Radio Perfection
This was such a fantastic show. It was such a vivid experience! Watching the tv show and it doesn’t do the radio cast or the characters justice. Great writing
  • Damankas
    I love this show!!
Just started the seconds season and love the story. The story just keeps getting more interesting Although I have to say the drums segues make me absolutely cringe. Blaaah. So out of context and distracting. Season one segues made sense.
  • nunezmc
Season 2 was a dumpster fire
Did they just give up on the second season?? The whole buildup of the first season (which was wonderful) was tossed out the window - no more flashbacks, no interesting relationship building, a mind-numbingly bad character fit for David Schwimmer, and no resolution to the whole story whatsoever.
  • ZethDaniels
    Immersive
I can't stop listening. The performances are spontaneous and vulnerable, and the immersive sound world is seamless. I don't know how you do it, but please keeping going!
